New Music On The Way: Kris Wu, BTS, Jason Lee & Ja Mezz

May is turning out to be a good month for music fans.  From hip-hop to kpop and jazz, there's a lot of new sounds to look forward to.

Beginning with Jason Lee. The saxophonist / producer from 8Balltown's producer duo Wekeyz, is dropping his first solo album, which from the preview on Instagram sounds pretty jazzy. It's called "Sax In The City," and will be released on May 17. This comes after the May 7 Wekeyz (with Yunu) release of "Sugar," featuring Chloe DeVita and Ugly Duck.


Former kpop idol, and recent Universal Music Group signee, hip-hop artist Kris Wu, has announced that he's dropping new music on May 18. Two teaser images have been released for it. The most recent on May 14, showing the title "Like That." 

In previous interviews, Kris has said that he's been working on a new album. In a tweet on May 11, Universal Music Indo tweeted that Kris Wu's new song is coming.  The May 18 release, will be the rapper's first release, since signing to Universal, and after gaining recognition in the U.S. for his collaboration with rapper Travis Scott for "Deserve."


Also dropping new music on May 18, is Kpop boy group BTS.  A teaser video for "Fake Love," one of the tracks on the upcoming album, "Love Yourself: Tear" was shared on May 14. The group's company, Big Hit Entertainment, tweeted a tracklist of the album on May 13. And (BTS) rapper RM, later tweeted that track 6, "Love Maze" was his favorite.

On May 6, the visual for track one, "Singularity," the sexy R&B number from group member V, was dropped. Coming Up, two days after the big May 18 release, BTS will be performing at this year's Billboard Music Awards, and then later in the year, will kick off a world tour .



More new music -- Look for South Korean rapper Ja Mezz's first LP on May 21.

Titled "GOØDevil,"  two tracks and a music video have already previously been released. "Alchemy," featuring Dok2 and Mino (with the mv) and "Toruk Makto" featuring Jay Park, Koonta and Skull.

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Has Jay Park come full circle with upcoming AOMG Audition Program "Sign Here" on MBN?

He has shared his story hundreds of times. CEO Jay Park got his start in the music industry after auditioning in Seattle as a teen to join JYP, one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea. According to online sources, after being accepted, Park trained in South Korea as part of a kpop group known as One Day. Part of the group's training was broadcast as a reality survival documentary show on MNET called Hot Blood . After the show, One Day was split into two separate groups-- 2AM and 2PM. Via fan votes, Park became the leader of 2PM. 2PM debuted with the song "10 Out of 10" in 2008. But by 2010, Park was officially out of the group, and back home in Seattle. Fast forward to today, and Jay Park is signed to Roc Nation and has founded his own entertainment companies; hip-hop labels AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC, and he is now currently launching an AOMG audition program called "Sign Here" on MBN. NEW MUSIC: Jason Derulo - "2Sides" EP (Side 1 of his Album Project)

In a release that sounds like a celebration of music-- singer Jason Derulo is getting bodies moving with the drop of his new EP - "2Sides (Side 1)." The American artist released his mini-album on November 8th.  "2Sides (Side 1)" is the first of two parts. Part two is due out in 2020. The complete project will be his fifth studio album. Part one is a mixed brew of genres; with vibes of dance, R&B, melodic hip-hop, dancehall/calypso and pop-- along with the tunes of trumpets in its lead single - "F It Up." Colde from offonoff has dropped a cover of the hit song "DNA" from kpop group BTS. The cover has a different vibe from the upbeat electronic original dance version. Colde's take of "DNA" is more laid back, smooth and easy listening R&B. The cover was uploaded April 16, on a new YouTube channel under the name WAVY. Check it out below. YG singer-songwriter Joe Rhee, has made his solo artist debut as Vince, for THE BLACK LABEL, a South Korean record label and a subsidiary of YG Entertainment. Jay Park Hits The Stage with Ted Park, Young Paris, Casanova & 6ix9ine During "SOJU" Release Party In New York

Fans are sharing videos from Jay Park's "SOJU" release party in New York City. The single (featuring 2 Chainz and produced by Woogie) hit online platforms around midnight (EST) on May 25th, while a crowd of supporters got 'turnt up' at SOB's in the Manhattan neighborhood of SoHo, with hip-hop artist Jay Park, performing the new single, along with some older favorites like "Mommae." Concert Watch: Ozuna - AURA USA Tour 2018

Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Ozuna, is hitting the road this fall for an AURA USA Tour. The announcement comes after the release of Ozuna's new track and music video with Manuel Turizo, "Vaina Loca," which dropped on YouTube on June 28, and currently has more than 30-million views.  "Vaina Loca" is a single from Ozuna's upcoming album Aura , set to be released on August 24. The tour, starts in September in Atlanta, and hits at least 30 cities, including Lexington, KY in December. Tickets go on sale July 6, with Ticketmaster .

The rapper/singer dropped his new song "OCEAN" featuring Nigerian singer BNXN, with an official music video on June 30.  The visual includes beautiful scenes on a beach with a beautiful model. New Music On The Way: AOMG - Jay Park, Simon Dominic, Gray and Loco

A surprise announcement from hip-hop label AOMG.  On Saturday, April 14, the label (based in Korea) shared a post on Instagram with a silhouette image of four guys in a dark place that read "Here we got Jay Park, Simon Dominic, Gray and Loco shooting a music video. Please stay tuned for collaboration work from our artists." There were two pictures. One upright, and the other upside down.  To add to the AOMG announcement, rapper Loco posted on Instagram, an upside down picture of himself from a set with a caption that says Tuesday, May 1st. Producer/Singer/Rapper Gray has also posted a picture from a set on his Instagram that also reads Tuesday, May 1st. Based on a tweet from the fanbase Jay Park Network on Twitter,  the collaboration could be called "Turn It Over/Upside Down."
