New Music On The Way: Kris Wu, BTS, Jason Lee & Ja Mezz


May is turning out to be a good month for music fans.  From hip-hop to kpop and jazz, there's a lot of new sounds to look forward to.

Beginning with Jason Lee. The saxophonist / producer from 8Balltown's producer duo Wekeyz, is dropping his first solo album, which from the preview on Instagram sounds pretty jazzy. It's called "Sax In The City," and will be released on May 17. This comes after the May 7 Wekeyz (with Yunu) release of "Sugar," featuring Chloe DeVita and Ugly Duck.


Former kpop idol, and recent Universal Music Group signee, hip-hop artist Kris Wu, has announced that he's dropping new music on May 18. Two teaser images have been released for it. The most recent on May 14, showing the title "Like That." 

In previous interviews, Kris has said that he's been working on a new album. In a tweet on May 11, Universal Music Indo tweeted that Kris Wu's new song is coming.  The May 18 release, will be the rapper's first release, since signing to Universal, and after gaining recognition in the U.S. for his collaboration with rapper Travis Scott for "Deserve."


Also dropping new music on May 18, is Kpop boy group BTS.  A teaser video for "Fake Love," one of the tracks on the upcoming album, "Love Yourself: Tear" was shared on May 14. The group's company, Big Hit Entertainment, tweeted a tracklist of the album on May 13. And (BTS) rapper RM, later tweeted that track 6, "Love Maze" was his favorite.

On May 6, the visual for track one, "Singularity," the sexy R&B number from group member V, was dropped. Coming Up, two days after the big May 18 release, BTS will be performing at this year's Billboard Music Awards, and then later in the year, will kick off a world tour .



More new music -- Look for South Korean rapper Ja Mezz's first LP on May 21.

Titled "GOØDevil,"  two tracks and a music video have already previously been released. "Alchemy," featuring Dok2 and Mino (with the mv) and "Toruk Makto" featuring Jay Park, Koonta and Skull.

New Music & MV: FANXY CHILD - "Y" featuring Zico, Crush, Dean, Penomeco, Millic & Staytuned

Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). The feeling of drowning underwater and inner struggles, singer/rapper AUDREY NUNA delivers an emotional piece in her latest single and visual-- "Space." The Korean-American artist from New Jersey dropped her new music and official video for it, on her birthday, April 2. She co-directed the visual with Loris Russier and Khufu Najee, showing stunning scenes of turmoil. Check it out below.

Cha Cha Malone and Chase Henny return With New Hot Single - "Love You Now"

H1GHR MUSIC's Cha Cha Malone has again dropped another joint single with artist Chase Henny. The two released their latest melodic collaboration - "Love You Now" on streaming sites on December 11. CONCERT WATCH: Bruno Mars Adds New Opening Acts to '24K Magic World Tour' - Ella Mai, Ciara, Boyz II Men and Charlie Wilson

In a hilarious photoshopped Instagram video post on August 14, funk singer Bruno Mars announced a lineup of special guests to replace Cardi B on the final leg of the  24K Magic World Tour.  The decision to add the four new acts comes after Cardi B dropped out of the tour in late July after giving birth to her daughter. Hitting the stage at various points during the U.S. stops, will be Ciara, Ella Mai, Boyz II Men and Charlie Wilson. Each will perform as openers for a number of shows, beginning with Boyz II Men in Denver, Colorado on September 7th. The 24K Magic World Tour  began in early 2017, and will end in November (2018) with three homecoming shows in Hawaii. More information can be found on the  Bruno Mars website. New Video Drop: JINBO - "You Just Have To"

South Korean R&B singer JINBO, may have built his ideal woman as an AI robot, in his latest music video. The SuperFreakRecords' artist released the mv for "You Just Have To" on August 28, and you may have to watch it a couple of times, to get the plot twist. The visual comes after the August 14 release of his music video "So To Speak," with Crush and Hoody, which honors Kim SungJae, a member of the '90s duo DEUX, who died a suspicious death after his solo debut. JINBO's new music video was directed by 725, and has a sexy-tragic storyline. The song produced by Nounou Paris, was written by JINBO the SuperFreak himself. New Release: DPR - "ARCHIVES"

Straight from the vault, the Dream Perfect Regime has released its "ARCHIVES" of music from its videos. The compilation project features DPR LIVE, DPR IAN and DPR CREAM.
