New Music On The Way: Kris Wu, BTS, Jason Lee & Ja Mezz


May is turning out to be a good month for music fans.  From hip-hop to kpop and jazz, there's a lot of new sounds to look forward to.

Beginning with Jason Lee. The saxophonist / producer from 8Balltown's producer duo Wekeyz, is dropping his first solo album, which from the preview on Instagram sounds pretty jazzy. It's called "Sax In The City," and will be released on May 17. This comes after the May 7 Wekeyz (with Yunu) release of "Sugar," featuring Chloe DeVita and Ugly Duck.


Former kpop idol, and recent Universal Music Group signee, hip-hop artist Kris Wu, has announced that he's dropping new music on May 18. Two teaser images have been released for it. The most recent on May 14, showing the title "Like That." 

In previous interviews, Kris has said that he's been working on a new album. In a tweet on May 11, Universal Music Indo tweeted that Kris Wu's new song is coming.  The May 18 release, will be the rapper's first release, since signing to Universal, and after gaining recognition in the U.S. for his collaboration with rapper Travis Scott for "Deserve."


Also dropping new music on May 18, is Kpop boy group BTS.  A teaser video for "Fake Love," one of the tracks on the upcoming album, "Love Yourself: Tear" was shared on May 14. The group's company, Big Hit Entertainment, tweeted a tracklist of the album on May 13. And (BTS) rapper RM, later tweeted that track 6, "Love Maze" was his favorite.

On May 6, the visual for track one, "Singularity," the sexy R&B number from group member V, was dropped. Coming Up, two days after the big May 18 release, BTS will be performing at this year's Billboard Music Awards, and then later in the year, will kick off a world tour .



More new music -- Look for South Korean rapper Ja Mezz's first LP on May 21.

Titled "GOØDevil,"  two tracks and a music video have already previously been released. "Alchemy," featuring Dok2 and Mino (with the mv) and "Toruk Makto" featuring Jay Park, Koonta and Skull.

NEW MUSIC & MV: South Korean rapper DYNO from Team X Crew drops "Daddy" Mixtape #7 featuring H.K.

A song dedicated to his father, in a new visual from KRAZY Entertainment TEAM X member DYNO. His (Korean Anime) "Daddy" video dropped on February 14, showing animated scenes of South Korea. Lyrics for the Mixtape #7 song (featuring H.K.) translated in English include... All your life your main concern is about your child’s well-being You dedicate your life and gladly carries the burden… which left thick foot-prints.. It is okay now to unpack those burden. Team X is a fairly new hip-hop crew from KRAZY Entertainment, consisting of DYNO and YEON. The crew debut in late 2018. Most recently YEON dropped a Mixtape #1 video on February 9th, and DYNO released a Mixtape #6 video titled "Lonely" on February 6. Check out his new MV below.

New Music & MV: FANXY CHILD - "Y" featuring Zico, Crush, Dean, Penomeco, Millic & Staytuned

Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." FANXY CHILD will hold their first concert as a crew on August 10 and 11. Check out their new music below.

If you're sitting down, just go ahead and stand up and get ready to move, because once you see this full clip of Kris Wu's and Travis Scott's first live performance of their new single "Deserve," you won't be able to sit still. According to Wu's social media posts on October 13, the two took over New York City (at the Up&Down Club), during the release party for "DESERVE."  And their hip-hop performance is banging hot!  When Scott introduces Wu on stage, he says "It's time to get ratchet,"  and the two turn up for real. R&B singers Hoody & Crush fall for each other in new music and MV "Sunshine"

A little "Sunshine" to warm up the autumn cool.  AOMG singer Hoody released her latest single and an official music video to go with it, on October 22nd. Produced by Cha Cha Malone, the song "Sunshine," featuring Crush (from Amoeba Culture) is about the warmth that comes with love. The collaboration between the South Korean R&B singers, has a twist in the music video. In the visual, the two are next-door neighbors who are frustrated by each other, to the point of destruction, until a surprise cameo by AOMG's rapper Simon Dominic, who brings them together. New Hot Track - "AUTOMATIC" featuring CHANCELLOR, BABYLON, TWLV, MOON, BIBI & JISELLE

Another hot song from South Korea. The latest, six all-star singers on a melodic hip-hop track titled "AUTOMATIC." The single features CHANCELLOR, BABYLON, TWLV, MOON, BIBI and JISELLE. CHANCELLOR co-produced the song with DJ HOLLY. The new music hit streaming sites on October 14. Check it out below.

Jay Park Dropping Remix of "Birthday"

The original was already a nice feel good song, but now Jay Park is teasing on his Instagram Story, a remix of the track "Birthday." "Birthday" aired originally on SMTM6, episode 3 with Ja Mezz, Jay Park and Dok2 in August, 2017. On his Instagram Story on Nov. 28, Park writes that the remix is coming soon. Meanwhile Jay Park, as fans know, the rapper/singer/model, goes non-stop from project to project, and recently was featured in "Cosmopolitan Korea's COSMO Men." Simon Dominic Steps Down as co-CEO of AOMG

Rapper Simon Dominic has resigned as co-CEO of AOMG, a South Korean hip-hop label he ran with founder Jay Park. Fans first became aware of the move, when Simon D released a surprise live performance video of a new track on July 25, titled "Me No Jay Park." The video of him on the mic, on AOMG's YouTube channel, contains English subtitles with the lyrics that say..."I'm writing a resignation letter and this song is it," and "I'mma release the stocks to AOMG first up," "(DJ) Pumkin go meet up with CJ so there's no problems," "But you gotta step up as CEO and pull me down as an employee." According to online magazine Soompi, after the release of the video, AOMG released an official statement confirming Simon Dominic's resignation, but it also says the rapper is not leaving the label. CONCERT WATCH: San E & Mad Clown North American Tour

South Korean hip-hop artists San E and Mad Clown are teaming up for a multi-city concert tour in the U.S.  According to Eventbrite, Mad Clown is originally from the Chicago area, and San E grew up in Atlanta. Their "We Want You Tour" kicks off in April, with singer Sobae and DJ Juice. Ticket information can be found on the White Mountain agency website here.

H1GHR MUSIC Welcomes New Artist HAON To The Label

H1GHR MUSIC, fresh off its U.S. tour with its American and Korean artists, and the label has just announced the addition of a new member to the team. HAON, the newest artist, is also the winner from the Korean hip-hop Mnet survival show, "High School Rapper 2." Co-CEO Cha Cha Malone introduced HAON to English readers in an Instagram post on May 11th, saying he is "The Hottest Rookie in the Hip-hop Scene." New Music: CODE KUNST - "XI" featuring Lee Hi (The Next Chapter of "X")

Dark and bittersweet like the pain of love, and grooving with alternative R&B-- South Korean AOMG producer CODE KUNST, released his double single "XI," featuring YG singer Lee Hi on January 8. Calling it 'The Next Chapter of "X,"' the title song follows the previously released collaboration from the two... "X," off Code Kunst's 2017 album "Muggles' Mansion." In addition to the title track, "XI," the new double single also includes a shorter track titled "A Sad Night Track." According to record label AOMG, an official music video will be available on January 11th at 6 p.m. (KST) on the AOMG YouTube channel. The teaser for it begins with visuals of CODE KUNST.
