CONCERTS, TOURS & FESTIVALS (UPDATED)

JULY

-GSoul: The South Korean R&B singer announced his North American Tour last month, following the conclusion of his European tour. With eleven scheduled stops, it will kick off July 7 in Vancouver and end July 24 in Seattle. Ticket information is at Kohai.com.

-Lollapalooza: The festival takes place in the historic Grant Park in Chicago July 28-31. This year, J-Hope, member of Kpop group BTS, will headline with a closing performance on the main stage on Sunday, July 31st. His performance will make history, cementing him as the first South Korean artist to ever headline a main stage at a major U.S. music festival. Ticket information at: lollapalooza.com.

-Kehlani: The American R&B singer begins her "Blue Water Road Trip" Tour on July 30 in Raleigh, NC. You can find a link to buy tickets on her website: Kehlani.com.

AUGUST

-Alicia Keys: The R&B singer kicks off the American leg of her World Tour on August 2nd in Charlotte, NC. You can find ticket information on her website by clicking here.

-Kultureland Fest: Happening AUG. 6-7. Kultureland is an Afro-fusion, Latin, Dancehall, and R&B music festival located in Toronto, Canada. Headliners this year are Burna Boy and Jhené Aiko. Get tickets at www.kultureland.ca.

-Giveon: The R&B singer kicks off the American leg of his 2022 tour on August 16 in Philadelphia, PA. You can find a link to show dates on his website www.giveonofficial.com. The tour will follow the release of his album- "Give or Take," hitting streaming sites on June 24th. 

-Head In The Clouds Festival: More than a dozen artists are expected to hit the stage August 20 & 21 in Pasadena, CA during the two-day 88rising event. The lineup includes Jay Park, Shotta Spence, Rich Brian and Jackson Wang. You can buy passes at LA.HITCFESTIVAL.COM.

SEPTEMBER

-MADE IN AMERICA: The JAY-Z curated festival returns Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 3-4, on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, PA. The full festival lineup includes headliners Bad Bunny and Tyler, The Creator, along with performances from Lil Uzi Vert, Jazmine Sullivan, Burna Boy, Snoh Aalegra, Kodak Black, Pusha T, Lil Tjay and more. -Jack Harlow: The Louisville, KY rapper kicks off his “Come Home The Kids Miss You" Tour on September 6th in Nashville, TN with support from hip-hop duo, City Girls. Ticket information is at: jackharlow.us.tour.

-DPR Regime Tour: The Dream Perfect Regime collective kicks off their world tour on September 8 in Charlotte, NC with sold out shows. Ticket information is available at regimetour.com.



-Mary J. Blige: The legendary Queen of Hip-Hop Soul hits the road for her Good Morning Gorgeous Tour  beginning September 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tour features singers Ella Mai and Queen Naija. You can find ticket information at: www.maryjblige.com.

NEW MUSIC & MV: INNA x Vinka - "Bebe"

An eccentric collaboration between Romanian singer INNA, and Vinka from Uganda. The two released their colorful official music video with moves from a subway train, for their song "Bebe" on November 4th. Inna is known for her 2008 breakout hit "Hot." Vinka, an artist under record label - Swangz Avenue, has been moving up in the music scene in Africa and making moves in Europe. Check out their new collaboration "Bebe" below.

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). South Korean rapper Coogie drops new single as contract with AOMG expires

South Korean artist Coogie dropped his new single "1,2,3,4,5" on January 23, 2025--the same day record label AOMG announced its exclusive contract with the rapper had come to an end. Coogie signed with AOMG in 2022.  He was previously signed under hip-hop label ATMseoul. He became known for his sing-song melodic rap style after participating in the South Korean rap competition series Show Me The Money 777 in 2018.  The translation to AOMG's post on X reads... New Music & MV: FANXY CHILD - "Y" featuring Zico, Crush, Dean, Penomeco, Millic & Staytuned

Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." FANXY CHILD will hold their first concert as a crew on August 10 and 11. Check out their new music below.

BUMKEY Drops "All Of My Life" Single Feat. Babylon

South Korean artist BUMKEY teams up with R&B singer Babylon for a new summer love song titled "All Of My Life." The sweet ballad dropped on July 26 with an official music video on YouTube.  The two artists previously worked together on singer Chancellor's single and remix - "Automatic." NEW MUSIC & MV: Hoody - "MIRO"

A dance single from AOMG's Hoody. The South Korean artist released her new track - "MIRO," and the visual for it, on September 26. The song was produced by Slom. The drop comes just three days after the release of the collaboration with H1GHR MUSIC's Phe Reds for the song "Juice." Check out the new music video below.

Bruno Mars shares Behind the Scenes clip from the Making of "24K Magic"

Bruno Mars has shared a never before seen clip of the making of "24K Magic," the title track and lead single from his third studio album (of the same name). On June 27, the singer uploaded video on Twitter and Instagram, and wrote that he found it in his cell phone.  The video shows producer Brody Brown and Mars trying to figure out the groove for "24k Magic" in 2015. According to Bruno Mars, they tried nearly 100 different patterns and pockets to finally land what we hear today (a Zapp & Roger inspired track). What's Next for Jay Park After Dropping Visual for New Song "To Life" and Stepping Down As CEO of AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC?

He's touched millions of hearts with his music, dance moves and public actions for more than a decade, and now mega entertainer Jay Park is starting a new chapter with a "toast to life."  On January 1, the singer/rapper turned entrepreneur dropped the official music video on his YouTube channel, for his new single-- "To Life." The song is about his hustle in the music industry and other achievements. In the visual, the long-time artist sets his AOMG ring and H1GHR MUSIC chain down on a display. The scene cementing his December 31 social media announcement of his decision to step down from his position of CEO from both of his hip-hop music labels-- AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC.  Park founded AOMG in 2013, just years after parting ways with JYP Entertainment, where he was the leader of KPOP group 2PM. Song of The Day: Kiana Ledé - "Take It All"

Showing her vocal range as an R&B artist, singer Kiana Ledé released "Take It All" on July 13, as one of seven songs on her new EP "Selfless." "Take It All" stands out on the mini album. The mostly acoustic track connects on an emotional level of maturity, which makes it today's Song of The Day. The 21-year-old artist has been active since she was a child, after winning a  Kidz Bop's Kidz Star USA talent competition in 2011.
