Songs of The Day: HOYA - "Angel" & "All Eyes On Me" (the hot releases before "BABY U")

by Nefertiti Jenkins For anyone who missed it-- back in late March of this year, South Korean entertainer HOYA dropped his solo debut EP "Shower." On it, are the 90s throwback R&B track "Angel" and the catchy (with a 2Pac influenced title) "All Eyes On Me." Each song dropped with an official music video showing HOYA's smooth dancing skills. Both are also irresistible- deserving the repeat play- making them today's Songs of the Day. HOYA has been moving his way up in the Korean entertainment industry for nearly a decade. In 2010 he became a member of the boy band INFINITE, but the now 27-year-old, left the group and his agency, Woollim Entertainment, in 2017. Currently HOYA is promoting his latest R&B release. The sexy "BABY U" featuring HANHAE, dropped on September 12. New Video Drop: RUST - "Groove It"

The temperatures are dropping. The weather is cooler and fall is here. The perfect time to listen to some easy listening from South Korean Indie jazz artist RUST. The singer released a visual for his track "Groove It" on September 26. It's off his jazz album MUZE , which hit streaming platforms on September 22. The black and white MV features a lone dancer, till we see RUST after a minute in. Check it out below.

New Music & MV Drop: SOMDEF - "Some Definition of Love" EP with "Slip N Slide" music video feat. Crush

"Some Definition of Love" dropped on September 26 with an official music video for its track - "Slip N Slide" featuring R&B singer Crush. It follows the pre-release of another music video for the mini album. The MV for "ONE PLUS ONE" featuring rapper Loco and singer Bravo dropped on August 9, and currently has more than a million views. Also featured on "Some Definition of Love" are singers George ("All Good"), singer Hoody and rapper BewhY ("Love Degrees"), and singers Jinbo and SUMIN (on "Moon and Sun"). New Music & MV Drop: Ted Park - "Worth It"

His fans already know this. H1GHR MUSIC's Ted Park is not afraid to try out new sounds. On his new release "Worth It," out on September 25, Park sings on a groovy track that begins with a bluesy guitar (overlapped with Keys) open (which sounds like a nod to B.B. KING ). Combining various styles of soul music (including also jazz, R&B and hip-hop), the DJ Pain 1 produced track is Park's first single off his upcoming fall EP.  You can find the new song now, on streaming platforms. NEW VIDEO DROP: Jay Park - "Sexy 4 Eva" - A Compelling Focus on the people of Seattle

by Nefertiti Jenkins Showing the beauty of his hometown of Seattle, and its people, singer/rapper Jay Park dropped the visual for his track "Sexy 4 Eva" on September 25. The JJ Augustavo directed video, with a theme of inclusiveness, spotlights the confidence of people from all walks of life-- age and backgrounds-- who feel "sexy forever." The compelling visual, produced by Adam Leeman, was shot (by MEGO LIN) in June. It also includes Park's Seattle crew (from H1GHR MUSIC and friends) including photographer Jordan Nicholson , singer Phe Reds , H1GHR MUSIC co-CEO (and producer of the track)  Cha Cha Malone , rappers Jarv Dee and Avatar Darko , and a cameo appearance from pop singer Eric Nam , who had a show in Seattle on June 10, as part of his Honestly North America Tour. by Nefertiti Jenkins Argentine Latin trap artist Khea, is back with a dark look at a broken heart. His new visual "Realidad," is following the lead set by his steamy video "Loca" (ft. Duki & Cazzu) and the remix (ft. Bad Bunny, Duki, and Cazzu), which combined, have raked in more than half a billion views. "Realidad" dropped on September 24. VILLAIN drops - "Dunno" Longer Remix on SoundCloud

by Nefertiti Jenkins On the heels of the September 16 release of the  "IGOHOLIC"  collaboration with his Planetarium Records labelmates - singer/rapper VILLAIN uploaded a remix of his track "Dunno." The original from PLT's  Planetarium Case #1 ,  starts off as a ballad which transitions to R&B. The "Longer" remix, switches up to include more melodic hip-hop and faster tempo R&B. Mostly in Korean, it also includes lyrics like... It's not easy for the cruise control. Is finesse kinda hard for u baby. I just I just wanna talk to u baby. VILLAIN speaks fluent English. According to a recent Rolling Stone India interview (with the artists from PLT), he grew up between Dubai and Canada. On his debut EP,  "Bank Robber,"  his tracks are in Korean and English. Song of The Day: RECYCLED J - "Valga la Pena"

There's something about Latin R&B, or R&B sung in Spanish. The music can seduce you, even if you don't know the language. Spotify has a 50-song R&B EN ESPAÑOL playlist, and on it, is "Valga la Pena" by RECYCLED J. The hip-hop/R&B artist from Madrid, dropped the track in 2017, and it is sexy with lyrics in Spanish. The google translation from GENIUS has the chorus as "Make it worthwhile... Babe. Make it worth it. Forget what happened. Whether you were right or not." The official music video opens with RECYCLED J (aka Jorge Escorial) nearly in tears. And ends with the entertainer in a room with his girlfriend. The MV was the end result of a promotional stunt uploaded to social media days before its release. "Valga la Pena" is a track off RECYCLED J's  Oro Rosa album. Since that pre-release, he's dropped the music video for his song "KIDS," which was shot in New York and New Jersey (and uploaded on June 29)

NEW MUSIC DROP: Jessie Reyez - "Dear Yessie"

She told her fans back in August, she was releasing one song at a time off her new EP "Being Human In Public." On September 20, R&B pop singer Jessie Reyez, dropped the fifth track. Titled "Dear Yessie," she raps on it; "this is the realest I've ever been, realest I've ever been." "Dear Yessie" follows the previous releases for the EP - "Apple Juice," "Sola," "F*** Being Friends," and "Body Count" (Remix) featuring Normani and Kehlani. The Canadian artist kicks off her tour across North America soon. Sik-K begs a Woman to Stay in New Video Drop - "XIBAL"

Looks like H1GHR MUSIC's trap rapper Sik-K, has messed up big time in the romance department. In his new music video, he's begging a woman to stay with him. The MV for his song "XIBAL" dropped on September 20 with English subtitles, ahead of a full release.  The South Korean rapper wrote on Instagram to his fans; "If u want me to drop this track on every streaming platform drop comments." The lyrics for the song produced by GroovyRoom and Pink Slip include: "Sibal, please don't go yet. Sorry for cussin. Don't leave that's what I meant." And also, "So we won't fight. Be my fuc*** wife." The Jinooya Makes directed visual includes a woman's lyrical dance around Sik-K in various settings. The two 88rising artists are showing off their culinary skills for a pool party, in a new First We Feast series - "Feast Mansion." In the series premiere on September 26, Brian and Joji get roasted by French chef Ludo Lefebvre, and learn how to grill rattlesnake and bulls testicles poolside with a Yakitori master. Check out the trailer below. "Feast Mansion" episodes will be uploaded on Wednesdays, on the 'First We Feast' YouTube channel. NEW VIDEO DROP: Jaden Smith - "The Passion"

Rapper Jaden Smith has released his latest video off his SYRE album. The visual for "The Passion" dropped on September 17, with Smith wearing the same outfit he wore in the video for "Icon." He wrote on Instagram that he shot both videos on the same day. The new visual also has the same color scheme as previous videos. Will Smith's and Jada Pinkett Smith's son goes hard in "The Passion," but then switches it up with tears for the close. He released an "Electric" edition of his album back in July. NEW MUSIC: Planetarium Records / PLT - "IGOHOLIC"

Planetarium Records may not be dominating the charts right now, but the artists from the South Korean label have come out flexin, and right now, they are the ones to watch. PLT as a collective, dropped a new single with a music video, "IGOHOLIC," on September 17. The track is a trap release, featuring Jung JinWoo, Gaho, Moti, June and Villain; rapping in the visual from a helicopter hangar. With Villain's verse towards the end - "I think I'm an alcoholic. I'm whisky dialing you all day. I'll give you that workaholic. Stop working hard, it's your birthday." The new hip-hop music follows the R&B releases in August from the label, with "Insomniac," from Jung Jin Woo and Gaho. And "Days" from June, Moti and Villain. David Foster, Anggun and Jay Park Returning as Judges for 'Asia's Got Talent' Season 3

After a successful season two, Asia's Got Talent is gearing up for its season 3 premiere, with returning celebrity judges David Foster, Anggun and Jay Park, as well as Alan Wong and Justin Bratton returning as hosts. A video announcement revealed the news on social media on September 16. This will be Jay Park's second year as a judge. David Foster and Anggun have been with AGT since season one. The new season will premiere sometime later this fall, with acts from different countries in Asia. In August, free limited TV audience tickets were being offered at the Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios, for recordings from September 19 - 27. Asia's Got Talent (part of the global 'Got Talent' franchise), is a talent show featuring singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers of all ages competing for a $100,000 prize. Worth Watching: "Bleach" - A Live-Action Anime Adaptation Movie on Netflix

by Nefertiti Jenkins Looking for something to watch this weekend? Check out "Bleach," a live-action anime adaptation film, that just recently hit Netflix with English subtitles. It's based on the manga and anime series of the same name. The acting is good, and the action is great. Even if you're not familiar with the series, you'll still enjoy the movie. According to the official synopsis, the film is about... Ichigo Kurosaki, a High School student, living in Karakura. He is able to see ghosts, as well as hollows. And he meets up with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper (or Shinigami in Japanese).  Check out the trailer below, and stream "Bleach" on Netflix.

New Music Drop: Kris Wu - "Freedom" featuring Jhené Aiko

Hip-hop artist Kris Wu and R&B singer Jhené Aiko, vibe with vocals in a new collaboration track - "Freedom." The single dropped on September 14, in a surprise move from the Chinese-Canadian entertainer with Universal Music. The song is off Wu's upcoming debut album, and follows the popular "Tian Di"   and "Like That." Check out the Apple Music preview below. A spiritual Hip-Hop journey to Africa with Korean rapper JaeDal - in New Music Drop: "Period" EP & "Tree" MV

JaeDal from Legit Goons, has released a visually powerful music video for his track "Tree," off his new EP "Period." The Previex music film, directed by Lee Hyoungjoo and Kim Jinbeom, opens with GPS coordinates to a country in Africa. The cinematic visual then shows a shaved JaeDal, followed by majestic images of the beauty of the land and its children. JaeDal's flow over African drums is in Korean.
