Dancing to MRSHLL's new "Alien Issa" EP mixtape

A six-track dance mixtape from (South Korean label) Feel Ghood Music's soulful singer MRSHLL. "Alien Issa" dropped on October 31, just in time for Halloween. MRSHLL, who is openly gay, wrote on Instagram that this EP is for "those of us in the margins, those of us who feel like we don't belong, the in-betweeners... an alien impersonating what society had boxed us into... to survive." The Korean-American artist also wrote... Each song is representative of the multi-faceted feelings we endure on the daily... while also being based on very personal experiences from my own life as an "alien" that happens to look like everyone else. According to MRSHLL, the mixtape is a collection of songs, in which some didn't make the cut for his "Breathe" debut EP in June, and some didn't quite fit for his upcoming album. NEW MUSIC: South Korean rapper Simon Dominic collaborates with American rapper Pharoahe Monch in a new "Simon Says"

American lyricist Pharoahe Monch has had a huge impact on South Korean rapper Simon Dominic. In a translated interview with HIPHOPLE , the AOMG artist said he discovered Pharoahe Monch's music in 2002, after listening to Monch's feature on Mos Def's track "Oh No" with Nate Dogg. From his complex rhymes and flows, the Queens (New York) MC played a "trigger" for Dominic while he was promoting underground and inspired him to be better.  But it was the track "Simon Says" from Monch's Internal Affairs solo debut album, that changed everything for Simon Dominic, who at the time was going by the stage name K-OUTA.  Even his crew at the time - Illest Konfusion, was named after Pharoahe Monch's - Organized Konfusion with Prince Po. SONG OF THE DAY: Chaanill and Xydo - "Don't Worry" (a Poison Holyc collaboration)

With smooth R&B vocals, singers Chaanill and Xydo from Poison Holyc, uploaded their collaboration "Don't Worry," on SoundCloud back in June. The soulful melody has a positive message that is worth putting on repeat. The hook for the therapeutic lyrics include... Don't worry my Mom / don't worry my father / So I'm gonna make it vibe /and gonna make a smile. Chaanill and Xydo are just two of the solo artists representing the South Korean crew Poison Holyc. Other artists, songwriters and producers from the collective include £.vıewƶ (who debuted two years ago) and also includes: YuJeong, KyLy, Miya, Nap!er, Kobel and YELLA. Miya recently uploaded a track with E.viewz titled "The Shell." NEW MUSIC & MV: Reddy - "Stand by You"

Showing clips from his recent time in North America, South Korean rapper Reddy dropped his latest music video on October 26. "Stand by You" includes sentimental lyrics about his feelings for the love of his life. You see him talking on the phone to someone while he's on the road. The Hi-Lite Records' artist raps on the track in Korean and English; "Even if you gain weight, I'll stand by you. Even if you get wrinkles, I'll stand by you. British group Little Mix drops NEW VIDEO: "Woman Like Me" featuring Nicki Minaj

They're too powerful to fit the mold of a man's ideal woman. British girl group Little Mix released their new video for "Woman Like Me," featuring Nicki Minaj on Oct. 25, breaking down stereotypes while at 'finishing school.' The members are Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson. The quartet from London has been around since 2011, after coming together during the eighth season of the UK version of The X Factor. They were the first group to win the competition. Steve Aoki and BTS drop their latest collab - "Waste It On Me"

The latest joint production from American EDM DJ-producer Steve Aoki and global kpop stars BTS, is all in English. The synth heavy pop track, "Waste It On Me," was released on October 25th with a lyric video on YouTube. The single will be on Aoki's upcoming album "Neon Future III," dropping on November 9th. This is the third collaboration for the musicians.  Previous ventures together include, "MIC Drop" and "The Truth Untold."

New Music: "METROCITY" - The soulful sounds of Horim

Back with that neo-soul and jazz vibe, South Korean singer Horim dropped his first full length album, "METROCITY," on October 24. The 19-song project includes previously released tracks "Movin," (featuring Mxxg, Odee, Kim Oki & DJ Noah) and "Sug4r," featuring Paloalto from Hi-Lite Records. The album also dropped with an official music video for its lead track "Street." Horim from BANKTWOBROTHERS, has one of those soulful raspy voices that take you back in time, to when people were still grooving to Erykah Badu and D'Angelo on the radio. SAM KIM gets an assist from Crush with new MV - "Make Up," as part of 'Sun and Moon,' Pt. 1 release

by Nefertiti Jenkins His soulful voice rings out over multiple genres of music, including R&B, jazz, blues, pop, folk and rock. SAM KIM is a 20-year-old Korean-American singer-songwriter-guitarist from Federal Way, WA (a coastal city within the Seattle metropolitan area). He now lives in South Korea, and is signed to Antenna Music . On October 23, KIM dropped a three-track release, Sun and Moon, Part. 1, giving us a mixture of sounds. Included in the rollout, is an official music video for one of its tracks, "Make Up," featuring R&B singer Crush (who has been collaborating with a number of artists in South Korea lately, including AOMG's Hoody for her new single "Sunshine" ). KIM and Crush have also teamed up before. Crush is featured on the single "No Sense," off KIM's 2016 full-length EP, I Am Sam . In the latest release, SAM KIM wants to "Make Up" after an argument. Emotional new music & MV from BTS rapper RM ("Mono" playlist with "Forever Rain" video)

RM, the main rapper and leader of the kpop group BTS, has dropped a bag load of emotions in his new release "Mono," with an official music video for one of its tracks, "Forever Rain." The music hit platforms on October 22. The visual is an animated video with sub-titled lyrics like - "I wish it rains all day. Cuz I'd like someone to cry for me." The international superstar from South Korea, calls his seven-track release a playlist. His collaborators on "Mono" include production with HONNE, an English electronic music duo from London, as well as features with Korean singer eAeon and South Korean indie rock band NELL. R&B singers Hoody & Crush fall for each other in new music and MV "Sunshine"

A little "Sunshine" to warm up the autumn cool.  AOMG singer Hoody released her latest single and an official music video to go with it, on October 22nd. Produced by Cha Cha Malone, the song "Sunshine," featuring Crush (from Amoeba Culture) is about the warmth that comes with love. The collaboration between the South Korean R&B singers, has a twist in the music video. In the visual, the two are next-door neighbors who are frustrated by each other, to the point of destruction, until a surprise cameo by AOMG's rapper Simon Dominic, who brings them together. NEW MUSIC: Jessie Reyez drops her full EP - "Being Human In Public"

You can feel the passion in her raspy voice, as she marks her place in a crowded field of musicians. R&B/pop singer Jessie Reyez released her debut EP, "Being Human In Public," on Oct. 19. The mini album includes previously released tracks, and the previous unheard title track -"Saint Nobody," in which she sings "if tomorrow doesn't come, I've got my guns loaded." The Colombian-Canadian artist released most of the EP's songs over the summer, including the remix to "Body Count," featuring Normani and Kehlani, about sexual double standards. Reyez's soulful vocals pierce over themes of feminism, immigration, love and heartache. Kris Wu Teams up with Rich The Kid on New Single - "Coupe"

It was released on October 18, and follows the pre-releases of "Freedom," featuring Jhené Aiko, "Tian Di," "Like That," and "Deserve," featuring Travis Scott. The album will have a total of 14 tracks. It drops on November 2nd, but you can pre-order it now. Wu has talked about his love for cars in the past, so it's only fitting he'd have a song titled "Coupe." Song of the Day: SFC.JGR - "Network" (as featured on the Kitsuné Hot Stream)

South Korean singer-songwriter SFC.JGR (Sergeant First Class Jaguar) from label 8BallTown, shared his R&B track "Network" in August, as part of his label's MIXX CITY VOL.2 project. The single was re-uploaded on October 17, as part of the playlist from Kitsuné Hot Stream , which is focusing on South Korean music every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in October. Kitsuné is a French clothing brand and music label. According to his online bio, SFC.JGR never gave up on his music, even as an actual sergeant first class in the military. ALBUM SPOTLIGHT: Bas - "Milky Way" (Ahead of the Big Tour)

by Nefertiti Jenkins Sudanese-American hip-hop artist Bas (from J. Cole's Dreamville Records) dropped his latest project "Milky Way" back on August 24. The 14-track album includes international beats with conscious flow. The Paris born rapper moved to Queens, New York when he was eight. His family is originally from Sudan (Northeast Africa). It's been two and a half years since his previous release, "Too High To Riot."  According to Bas (in a Power 106 interview ), tracks on "Milky Way" were inspired by African vibes, including Afro Beats and South African House music. From the beach, to the streets in South Korea, R&B singer KOBEL is "LOST" in his latest music video. The Choi Jong Hyun directed visual hit YouTube on October 15. The self-produced track includes the use of Auto-Tune, as KOBEL mixes R&B and trap. KOBEL is an artist on the rise in South Korea, but he was born in Belgium, studied in the U.S. and has lived in Chile. His first music video, "Don't Hit My Line," hit YouTube on June 2nd. NEW MUSIC & MV DROP: The smooth sounds of Zion.T - "ZZZ"

Known for his smooth vocals, South Korean singer Zion.T is back with a new seven-track EP titled "ZZZ." It dropped on October 15; with an official music video for its title track "Hello Tutorial," featuring Seulgi from kpop girl group Red Velvet. The EP is a mix of easy listening soulful sounds. From R&B on the first track, "Ideal," to the light melodies on "Hello Tutorial," and groovy tunes on "My Luv." The Black Label artist (sub-unit from YG Entertainment) also delivers melodic hip-hop/R&B on "Malla Gang," (feat. E SENS), jazzy notes on "Uh Huh," upbeat percussion on "Sleep Talk" (feat. NEW MUSIC DROP: Shotta Spence - "1012" - Five New Tracks on SoundCloud

As his birthday gift to fans, rapper Shotta Spence (Spence Lee), has uploaded five new tracks to SoundCloud. The New Jersey born artist celebrated a birthday on October 12th, thus the title for his new music - "1012." The songs include "Fiyah" (produced by M4RJESS), "Protect Me" (produced by Earl & E), "Bounce" (produced by Kakuyon), "Seed of a Refuge" (produced by Mohntra), and "Almost Rich" (produced by Bravestarr). MMA fighter Seo Jinsoo drops a sexy rap video - "VOODOO" (feat. Duplex G)

South Korean mixed martial arts fighter Seo Jinsoo, has just thrown a knockout punch on the hip-hop scene with his debut single - "VOODOO" featuring Duplex G. The official music video for the track dropped on October 12. Instead of a fighting ring (or The Octagon), Seo Jinsoo hits the party scene on a slow tempo beat as he contemplates his lifestyle with alcohol over interactions with sexy women. Check it out above. Seo is receiving support for his video from global hip-hop/R&B star Jay Park, who has been working out with MMA fighters, and even signed fighter Chan Sung Jung to his AOMG label back in May. New Video Drop: WEDAPLUGG RECORDS' artist Lil Cherry - "Mona Lisa" feat. Jito Mo

Her rap is melodic and her style is trap. Wedaplugg Records' artist Lil Cherry, is showing what she has to offer, in a new trippy visual for her sAewoo produced track "Mona Lisa," featuring Jito Mo. The single is from her July debut album "Sauce Talk." The "Mona Lisa" video hit YouTube on October 11, just hours after it was revealed within the South Korean hip-hop community (and fans of it) that the two men running the label she's signed to, are rappers Giriboy and Swings (Swings is also over Just Music Entertainment and Indigo Music). Their artists, in addition to Lil Cherry, are Jito Mo, Jhnovr,  YUNHWAY and producer sAewoo. They have been uploading their work to the WEDAPLUGG YouTube channel for the past ten months.
