Ama Lou returns with visual for "Same Old Ways"

London singer Ama Lou dropped the official music video for her song "Same Old Ways" on April 27. The track is off her "At Least We Have This" EP which hit streaming sites on November 26, 2021, with the popular R&B single "Trust Nobody." She dropped the deluxe version of the EP, on March 18, 2022, with a Live Session of each track.  In the visual for "Same Old Ways," Lou arrives at a private school and joins in on the campus activities with students. The song is a mix of Afrobeat and Caribbean influenced hip-hop. Check out the music video below.

Jay Park drops performance video for new song "Thoughts Of You" feat. pH-1 & BENZO

Multilingual artist and businessman Jay Park has released a new single with Chinese and English lyrics. Park dropped "Thoughts Of You" featuring pH-1 and BENZO on April 28, with a performance video on YouTube featuring his MVP (More Vision Project) dance crew and rapper pH-1 also busting a few moves. The new song follows the rollout of Jay Park's chart-topping song "GANADARA" on March 11, featuring South Korean singer and actress IU. Park released a performance video for that song on April 24, featuring MVP and HolyBang. The video dropped one day before his 35th birthday on April 25. The release of the new music comes under Park's new label/company MORE VISION, which he announced on March 2, while successfully launching his new soju brand WON SOJU and after stepping down as CEO from AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC.

South Korean Hip-Hop Label Hi-Lite Records Disbands after 12 Years

Another loss for the hip-hop industry in South Korea. On April 20, Hi-Lite Records founder and former CEO Paloalto announced the disbandment of the label during his Instagram Live. Paloalto created the company in 2010. He stepped down as CEO in 2020 , but remained on as a recording artist. The label was most recently home to other artists such as Reddy, Huckleberry P, Swervy, Owell Mood, Soovi, jerd and Ash-B.  Hi-Lite Records posted a statement on its social media platforms following Paloalto's announcement saying in part...  "As many of you heard through Paloalto’s Instagram Live, we have decided to officially disband the Hi-Lite Records label. A number of different situations and circumstances led to this decision. Above all, know that this decision was made to ensure the best possible future for our artists and employees." Hot New Music: Jack Harlow - "First Class," Paulo Londra - "Chance" and ChaMane - "26"

Hip-hop is dominating the charts from around the world. During the week ending April 9, some hot new music hit streaming sites, including new hits from Louisville, KY rapper Jack Harlow, Argentine artist Paulo Londra and South Korean rapper ChaMane. Jack Harlow's banger "First Class" rolled out on streaming sites on April 8, with an official visualizer (that's currently trending on YouTube) just days after a preview of the song on social media with the artist in the studio went viral. The rapper samples Fergie’s 2006 hit “Glamorous” in "First Class." According to Chart Data, the new song has already topped the global Spotify chart and has earned the biggest chart debut of the year. "First Class" is a pre-release off Harlow's upcoming project- "Come Home The Kids Miss You," due out on May 6th. New Music: "CMRLIFE II" - feat. Souljah Bless, Jawaan Larue , T & Henny Skywalker

The artists from Orlando based Conscious Mind Records have returned with a new collaboration single-- "CMRLIFE II," featuring label co-founders Souljah Bless and T, as well as Seattle native Jawaan Larue  and producer Henny Skywalker.  The song includes their signature sounds--from Bless' new-age reggae to Larue's and T's sharp and melodic rap flows. The artists rhyme with a commentary on society, while showcasing their skills and the label's purpose.  The track hit streaming sites on April 1st.
