New Music Drop: Mila J - "June 2018" - EP

R&B singer Mila J, has dropped her latest monthly EP.  She's been releasing a new project every month since the beginning of the year. The latest one, "June 2018," includes five tracks; "I See You Lookin," "Without You," "Somehow Someway," "Crash," and "Did This to Myself," (feat. MIGH-X). The tracks, each on a smooth beat, follow the ups and downs of relationships. You can find the new release on digital platforms here , and a preview from Apple Music below. Mila J's birth name is Jamila Chilombo, and the Los Angeles native is of black, Japanese, and Native American descent. She's the older sister of R&B singer Jhéne Aiko, and has been active on and off in the music industry since the 90s, with her appearance (as a little girl) in Prince's "Diamond and Pearls" video in 1991. Female Rapper Celebrates Driving in Saudi Arabia - with a Hip-Hop Video

by Nefertiti Jenkins Leesa A is a hip-hop artist in Saudi Arabia, and she's celebrating the fact, that she can now legally drive a car in her home country. According to BBC News , the law officially changed on June 24, ending the decades-old ban, in which women in Saudi Arabia could not drive, and "families had to hire private chauffeurs for female relatives." The change was announced last September, and the first licenses were issued earlier this month, according to the BBC. Soon after the ban was lifted, Leesa uploaded a rap video to Instagram and YouTube, showing the young woman, behind the wheel of a car spitting bars. The video has been shared extensively on social media, including by actress Jada Pinkett Smith, who also included the lyrics translated in English, under her caption for her post on Instagram. According to the BBC, when Leesa refers to the tenth, that's a reference to the date of June 24, in the lunar-based Islamic calendar. Check out t

Jay Park Releasing "SOJU" Remix this Sunday (featuring Simon Dominic, CHANGMO and Woodie Gochild)

With a second audio teaser, we now know who will be featured on Jay Park's "SOJU" Remix. The entertainer announced on June 29, that the remix will include his AOMG co-CEO, Simon Dominic, as well as rapper Woodie Gochild (from Park's H1GHR MUSIC label) and also on the track, South Korean rapper CHANGMO. The remix is slated to drop on Sunday, July 1st at 6PM (KST), and according to Jay Park (on social media), a "SOJU" Remix Release Party will be held somewhere in Seoul. The original version of "SOJU," featuring 2 Chainz, dropped on May 25, under Roc Nation, as part of Jay Park's official American debut and upcoming album. The music video for it, was released on June 14. Park says the debut album (for Roc Nation) will be out on July 20. NEW MUSIC DROP: Tiffany Young - U.S. Debut - with "Over My Skin"

American singer, Tiffany Young, from kpop group Girls' Generation, has officially made her solo U.S. debut, with the release of her new single "Over My Skin." The California native dropped the audio for the sultry upbeat tempo track on June 28. Produced by Far East Movement and Khwezi, for the Transparent Arts label, the lyrics for the first verse include... I got this vision in my mind. You got me sinning with desire. Bruno Mars shares Behind the Scenes clip from the Making of "24K Magic"

Bruno Mars has shared a never before seen clip of the making of "24K Magic," the title track and lead single from his third studio album (of the same name). On June 27, the singer uploaded video on Twitter and Instagram, and wrote that he found it in his cell phone.  The video shows producer Brody Brown and Mars trying to figure out the groove for "24k Magic" in 2015. According to Bruno Mars, they tried nearly 100 different patterns and pockets to finally land what we hear today (a Zapp & Roger inspired track). New Music On The Way: EPIK HIGH To Drop Collaboration with End of the World (SEKAI NO OWARI)

A collaboration between South Korean alternative hip-hop group EPIK HIGH and End of the World (SEKAI NO OWARI), a Japanese rock band, is on the way. According to the two groups (on Sunday, June 24), the new collaboration single "SLEEPING BEAUTY," will be released on Friday, June 29. Check out the joint-announcement below. Rapper Keith Ape to drop his first EP this Summer with 88rising

His rise to fame came with the controversial trap track "It G Ma," (feat. JayAllDay, Loota, Okasian and Kohh). Formerly from Hi-Lite Records, South Korean rapper Keith Ape, has announced that his first EP will be dropping in August with 88rising. The Cohort (crew) member, former viral sensation, is now back on social media, after deleting his posts in 2017. On June 23, 2018, he tweeted on Twitter and posted on Instagram, the announcement about the August release, and also shared a picture taken with Nas and A$AP Ferg at the Valentino SS19 Fashion Show in Paris, France. Per media reports, Rapper Nas was one of Keith Ape's inspirations for getting into the rap game years ago (with the 20th-anniversary re-release of "Illmatic"), and he's worked with A$AP Ferg in the past, for the remix of "It G Ma," which the original version, was controversial when it dropped back in 2015, because of its likeness to OG Maco's "U Guessed It.&quo

Jay Park drops a Demo on SoundCloud and it's a Slow Jam

An unexpected slow jam from Jay Park. The singer/rapper uploaded a track titled "2016 Demo," on SoundCloud on June 21. The song, produced by Woogie from H1GHR MUSIC, has that 90s R&B vibe, as Park sings about the mistakes he made with a former love. You can listen to it below. Jay Park is the co-CEO of two labels (AOMG & H1GHR MUSIC), and he is also signed to Roc Nation. He dropped his debut single under Roc Nation, "Soju," (feat. 2 Chainz) on May 25. Former 'K-pop Star 5' Singer - Lexie Liu - Now Signed with 88rising

U.S. media company, 88rising, announced a new addition to their label on June 19, with a tweet that read, "Introducing Lexie Liu Boxin to the 88rising gang." The tweet included a link to Lexie Liu's new video, "Like A Mercedes," which dropped on the 88rising YouTube channel. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter from China, might be a familiar face for some kpop fans. According to media reports, in 2015, she participated in K-pop Star 5 , a South Korean competition show, where agencies hold auditions to find potential kpop stars. She came in fourth place, and was offered a deal with one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, YG Entertainment, but she later declined. The singer's debut single and mv for 88rising, "Like A Mercedes," centers around a cyberpunk virtual reality storyline, with R&B and melodic hip-hop sounds in English and Chinese. CONCERT WATCH: '88 Degrees & Rising' Tour - Rich Brian, Joji, Keith Ape, Higher Brothers, KOHH, NIKI, AUGUST 08, Don Krez and More

Following the announcement of their upcoming Head In The Clouds Festival , taking place in September, in Los Angeles, CA -- 88rising announced on June 18, that it will also be taking its artists on the road. The label's '88 Degrees & Rising Tour' will feature hip-hop and R&B artists Rich Brian, Joji, Keith Ape, Higher Brothers, KOHH, NIKI, AUGUST 08, Don Krez and more. The tour, including Los Angeles, includes stops this fall, in Philadelphia, Canada, New York, Detroit, Atlanta and Chicago for a total right now, of 17 North American cities. A surprise double release from music's power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z. On June 16, the Carters dropped their new joint album,  Everything Is Love , along with a mv for one of its tracks, "APES**T," which was filmed at the Louvre art museum, in Paris, France. According to fans, Beyoncé announced the drop, with a countdown, during the couple's concert in London, which is part of the duo's European and North American,  On the Run II Tour . New Video Drop: KATIE's Soulful Vocals in new - DF LIVE visual - for "Remember"

Korean-American singer KATIE, has hit the golden couch with Dingo FreeStyle, performing an intoxicating DF LIVE version of her debut single "Remember." The new visual dropped on June 15, on the Dingo FreeStyle YouTube channel, with KATIE's sultry soulful vocals over a sensual display of numbered memories. The singer originally released "Remember" on June 6, with an official music video, which includes beautifully produced animations, and scenes with popular South Korean Hip-Hop artists. That video was uploaded to the YG Entertainment YouTube channel. KATIE (aka Katie Kim), first hit the spotlight in 2015 as winner of  K-pop Star 4 , which led her to YG, but according to online reports, she left the label three years later, to join AXIS (in 2018), a company founded by former YG creative director SINXITY. NEW VIDEO DROP: Jay Park - Releases Official Music Video for "SOJU" ft. 2 Chainz

Bridging cultures with alcohol. Jay Park has released the official music video for his new single "SOJU," featuring Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz. The singer/rapper from Seattle and South Korea, uploaded the mv to his YouTube channel on June 14 (after it premiered first with The Fader ). Jay Park is signed with Roc Nation, and is co-CEO of two other labels (H1GHR MUSIC and AOMG). He first introduced the song to fans back in March at South by Southwest. The single then dropped on May 25th . The official music video starts with guys hanging outside a liquor store, and then follows Park as he purchases bottles of Soju inside. He joins 2 Chainz later, at a Korean restaurant. From pictures and videos released months ago, we know that the shoot for this took place someplace in or around Atlanta. CONCERT WATCH: Ella Mai - "Boo'd Up" Tour

The song "Boo'd Up," has that old school, R&B vibe, that when played, makes you want to grab a partner to slow grind with.  It's currently No. 6, on the Billboard Hot 100, and the singer behind the throwback sounding track, Ella Mai, will soon be performing her hit, live in concert, across the U.S. and Canada. On June 13, the crooner from London, England, released dates for a summer tour. Her first stop is Dallas, TX on August 6th. The new version features rapper Rick Ross. "Love Lies" was first released earlier this year, as a single on the "Love, Simon" movie soundtrack. In February, the pair dropped a sexy music video for their collaboration. And in May, performed a mesmerizing number of the song, on the Billboard Music Awards . NEW VIDEO DROP: Kris Wu Releases Beautiful MV for -- "Tian Di"

Melodic hip-hop rapper Kris Wu, is delivering up a beautifully shot cinematic official music video for his new track "Tian Di," which dropped on YouTube on June 11. In the description box, it says the visual, was directed by the artist himself. The mv opens with Kris dressed in traditional clothing, in the middle of a bamboo forest. The actual track for it, was released in Asia, on June 6. Kris Wu, the former EXO, kpop boy band member, originally from China, but raised in Canada -- gained stardom in South Korea, and is now signed with  Universal Music Group . In May, under UMG, he debuted the single and mv for  "Like That" in English, which now has more than 13 million views. The new single, "Tian Di" is in Chinese. New Music and Video Drop: CHANGMO - "DNSG" Mixtape Album - with a MV for The Track - "Holy God"

by Nefertiti Jenkins The latest mixtape from Korean hip-hop artist Changmo, includes nine tracks, with a visual for its fifth track "Holy God."  The "underground rockstar" rapper is from Ambition Musik (of Illionaire Records), and released "DNSG," on June 11.  The "Intro" kicks off his album, with instrumentals. The third track, "Touch," was pre-released a week earlier on SoundCloud . A lot of people are talking about the fifth track, "Holy God," and the music video for it (which currently does not have subtitles). Rapped in Korean, the mv is laden with religious symbolism, explicit images of women, and has a cameo appearance from Illionaire Records co-founder, The Quiett. The Newest Member of AOMG - CODE KUNST - Drops Emotional Track & MV - "Rain Bird" feat. Tablo & Colde

Former HIGHGRND Producer, Code Kunst, is now the newest member of AOMG -- the Korean hip-hop (and R&B) label run by Jay Park and Simon Dominic.  AOMG revealed the news to fans on June 10, with the release of Code Kunst's new single and music video, "Rain Bird," featuring his former YG Entertainment- HIGHGRND sub-labelmates, Tablo (of Epik High) and Colde (from offonoff). HIGHGRND was founded by Tablo in 2015. He stepped down from his position in 2017. According to Soompi magazine, HIGHGRND is now a part of YG Entertainment’s subsidiary, YGX, with BIGBANG’s Seungri as the CEO. Colde is now with WAVY. The new release from Code Kunst, "Rain Bird," includes vocals from Colde, and Tablo rapping on an emotional ballad, which includes the lyrics... Clouds dominate the weather forecast. New Video Drop: from new KHip-Hop Artist - Kobel - "Don't Hit My Line" MV

A debut music video for a rising hip-hop star in Korea. Recording artist and producer (Johnny) Kobel, dropped his first mv on June 2nd. Called "Don't Hit My Line," Kobel writes on social media, that it was his first time acting in front of a camera during the shoot for it. The visual gives viewers a full view of the young singer /rapper as he delivers a message for a troubled love... Please don't hit my line, pretending that you're fine. I know that you been crying. I can see it in your eyes. During an Instagram Live recently, Kobel told fans that he was born in Belgium, studied in the U.S. for ten years, and lived in Chile for three years. New Video Drop: The Flavr Blue - "365" - feat. Jay Park & Cha Cha Malone

"365" -- The Flavr Blue track featuring Jay Park and (produced by) Cha Cha Malone, originally dropped seven months ago, in October of 2017. In the official music video, out on June 6, The Flavr Blue is showing, just exactly how you can move forward, if you want to, after a breakup. South Korean Hip-Hop Artist Sik-K Nominated for BET Award

Known for his trap swag, rapper Sik-K from South Korea, is nominated for a 2018 BET Award. The category-- Viewers' Choice: Best New International Act. Fans can vote through June 19, on the BET website,  and also on Instagram with the hashtag #IPICKSIKK18. The BET Awards Show will be held on June 24, in Los Angeles, CA. The BET International Awards can be viewed in the UK, Ireland and Africa on June 26.
