NEW MUSIC: Paloalto - "Love, Money & Dreams, Pt. 2"

Hi-Lite Records founder Paloalto has returned with part two of his "Love, Money & Dreams." The South Korean rapper released his new double single on June 22. Part one hit streaming sites back in May.

The first track of the new release, "It Ain't Love," was produced by AOMG's Code Kunst. The second track, "Promised Land," was produced by Stally, and features 2016's Show Me the Money 5 winner BewhY.

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." Rapper Jessi is back with another single under P NATION (the South Korean record label founded by Psy). This time around, Jessi has global star Jay Park on the track and visual. Jessi released their collaboration - "Drip" on November 1st, and straight out the gate, she comes out swinging with swag, and singing, that she's not "going anywhere." NEW NAME FOR BTS MEMBER (formerly Rap Monster)

The leader of the super popular kpop group BTS, from South Korea, has officially changed his name. Kim Nam-joon previously known as Rap Monster, has changed his stage name to RM. The announcement was published on the BTS official fan cafe on November 13.  RM wrote on it, that although he's been called Rap Monster for the past five years, he felt the need to change it, because that title was   getting more and more distant from the music done for the past 5 years.                                                                    -RM (via allkpop)    Back on September 19, 2017, Rap Monster announced on his Beats1Noisey Interview that he would be changing his name to RM. Just Jerk Crew Performs During Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

We're only two months in, and 2018 has already been a good year for Just Jerk Crew. They are the featured backup dancers in the official music video for Jay Park and Yultron's "Forget About Tomorrow," and they just recently announced the opening of their new dance academy in South Korea. The popular urban dance team from Seoul, has been making moves together since 2010, and has even competed on America's Got Talent, season 12. Now, the group is getting even more international recognition, after performing live during the Opening Ceremony for the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. The group has shared a clip of the performance on Instagram, and some of the members have even shared behind the scenes group photos. Female Rapper Celebrates Driving in Saudi Arabia - with a Hip-Hop Video

by Nefertiti Jenkins Leesa A is a hip-hop artist in Saudi Arabia, and she's celebrating the fact, that she can now legally drive a car in her home country. According to BBC News , the law officially changed on June 24, ending the decades-old ban, in which women in Saudi Arabia could not drive, and "families had to hire private chauffeurs for female relatives." The change was announced last September, and the first licenses were issued earlier this month, according to the BBC. Soon after the ban was lifted, Leesa uploaded a rap video to Instagram and YouTube, showing the young woman, behind the wheel of a car spitting bars. The video has been shared extensively on social media, including by actress Jada Pinkett Smith, who also included the lyrics translated in English, under her caption for her post on Instagram. NEW MUSIC DROP: Joji & BlocBoy JB - "Peach Jam"

A new summer song from BlocBoy JB and 88rising artist Joji. "Peach Jam" dropped as a single with an official music video on July 17, with rhythmic sounds from Joji on vocals and BlocBoy JB on the rap flow. This isn't the first collaboration for BlocBoy JB and 88rising. The rapper from Memphis, TN also teamed up with 88rising's Higher Brothers for "Let It Go," which dropped on July 10. Both songs are expected on the upcoming 88rising "Head In The Clouds," collective album on July 20th. Check out the new release below.
