The leader of the super popular kpop group BTS, from South Korea, has officially changed his name.
Kim Nam-joon previously known as Rap Monster, has changed his stage name to RM. The announcement was published on the BTS official fan cafe on November 13.
RM wrote on it, that although he's been called Rap Monster for the past five years, he felt the need to change it, because that title was
getting more and more distant from the music done for the past 5 years.-RM (via allkpop)
Back on September 19, 2017, Rap Monster announced on his Beats1Noisey Interview that he would be changing his name to RM.
The official announcement on November 13, is currently trending on Twitter, with fans tweeting support for RM's decision.
Fans are also looking forward to BTS' big American television debut. The group is on its way to Los Angeles and will perform live on the American Music Awards show on November 19, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
BTS will also appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" during their stay in the U.S.
