KHip-Hop Tours/Concerts Happening Soon in 2022

Fans of South Korean hip-hop will soon have a chance to see their favorite artists on stage. More than two years after the coronavirus pandemic put live in-person performances on hold, now with declining cases globally, artists are once again preparing to go on tour.  That includes Khip-hop rapper, Hi-Lite Records founder Paloalto, as well as AOMG artists YUGYEOM, Woo, Coogie, Sogumm, DeVita and DJ Wegun. In addition, Kpop mega stars BTS are also preparing for a mini- Las Vegas residency.  ( Part 2: Hip-hop and R&B Concerts/Tours Happening Soon in 2022 (summer, fall, winter) ) Rapper Paloalto kicks off the Khip-hop tour season. His U.S. tour begins March 10 in New York. Rappers oygli, PUFF DAEHEE, Ugly Duck & Paloalto Team Up for "Around Here" Project

Helping to spotlight one of the 25 districts in Seoul, South Korea, rappers oygli, PUFF DAEHEE (from 8BallTown), Ugly Duck (from AOMG) and Paloalto (founder of Hi-Lite Records) have teamed up for a new song- "Around Here." The BRLLNT produced track hit streaming sites, with an official visual on February 20, as part of a project to revitalize the Yongsan-gu region. The music video was filmed in the Itaewon area of the district. Check it out below.

New Music: DOK2 Drops "Trust Me I Know Everything You Think I Don't" Mixtape

Rapper DOK2 is back with a new 16-track project. The artist dropped his "Trust Me I Know Everything You Think I Don't" Mixtape on January 31.  DOK2 is known for his contributions to the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. In 2011, the rapper co-founded (with rapper The Quiett) the legendary now-defunct Illionaire Records and later, in 2016--the still active label-- Ambition Musik. DOK2 has since stepped down from his role as co-CEO of the labels and has left the company. Meanwhile, The Quiett dropped the final project for Illionaire Records on November 11, 2020.  Now DOK2 is back with 808 HI Recordings, with his first album since leaving Illionaire Records. He dropped a behind the scenes visual on YouTube on January 29, for the song "Stars and Moon" from the mixtape. Check out the new music below.

New Music: Sasaeg - "Soulstone"

South Korean rapper Sasaeg has released his latest hip-hop project. The artist dropped "Soulstone" on January 21. The 8-track self-produced album includes the jazz infused song-- "Belief." The project follows the release of his 2021 EP "Stair Landing" and triple single - "Fuzz." Check out "Soulstone" below.

Nick Grant Returns With More Groovy Vibes in "Welcome to Loveland"

With clever rhymes, lyricist Nick Grant has focused on the conscious soul of hip-hop, rapping over melodic, smooth and funky beats-- since even before hitting the music scene with his highly acclaimed debut album; "Return of the Cool" in 2017.  Now, back with his third LP, the South Carolina native focuses on his relationship with women in an explicit but yet groovy - "Welcome to Loveland." Jackson Wang Drops New Self-Titled Song

Rapper Jackson Wang has returned with a new release. The GOT7 former JYP Entertainment artist from Hong Kong dropped his new self-titled single with an animated visual on January 11. Before the release, Wang tweeted "Who I am. What I wanna do. Everything about my life here in this song." In the music video, we see an animated visual of Wang, as he walks mostly alone on a sidewalk and sings... "Taking my path step by step, it ain't so bad. When you get to it, it ain't so sad." He then goes on to share his story, as he raps about leaving home at the age of 17, as a fencing champion, in 2011 to start a career in the music industry in South Korea as a KPOP entertainer. He also raps he was homesick after arriving in South Korea, but found a Chinese restaurant, where the owner comforted him.   After the release of the single, Wang posted on Instagram.... "This is me. Saul Goode of Part Time Cooks Drops Groovy Debut Solo Project- “Blue, an album by Ryan”

Ringing in the New Year with a solo release, rapper Saul Goode, of Part Time Cooks, dropped his debut solo album-- “Blue, an album by Ryan" on January 1. The lead single from the project-- "Juju," hit streaming sites with an official music video on YouTube. The song features MBA crew member Bola, his fellow collaborator on AOMG's 2019  SignHere audition TV show. With the album, Goode brings a funky-groovy retrospective vibe, as he reminisces on the past and contemplates his current state. Check out “Blue, an album by Ryan” below.

What's Next for Jay Park After Dropping Visual for New Song "To Life" and Stepping Down As CEO of AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC?

He's touched millions of hearts with his music, dance moves and public actions for more than a decade, and now mega entertainer Jay Park is starting a new chapter with a "toast to life."  On January 1, the singer/rapper turned entrepreneur dropped the official music video on his YouTube channel, for his new single-- "To Life." The song is about his hustle in the music industry and other achievements. In the visual, the long-time artist sets his AOMG ring and H1GHR MUSIC chain down on a display. The scene cementing his December 31 social media announcement of his decision to step down from his position of CEO from both of his hip-hop music labels-- AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC.  Park founded AOMG in 2013, just years after parting ways with JYP Entertainment, where he was the leader of KPOP group 2PM. Jay Park Steps Down As CEO of AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC

In a surprise move, music mogul Jay Park has announced he's stepping down from his position as CEO, from both of the labels he founded---AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC. The 34-year-old South Korea-based artist from Seattle announced the decision on social media on December 31 (KST). Saying in part: "I know this may be shocking to a lot of people, but I will remain as an advisor for both labels and we will continue to be a family and a crew."  Park founded AOMG in 2013, and H1GHR MUSIC with producer Cha Cha Malone in 2017. The news follows a tweet from Park the day before which said... BE'O Drops Visual for "Counting Stars" feat. Beenzino

South Korean rapper BE'O released the official music video for his song "Counting Stars," featuring Beenzino, on December 13. The track actually hit streaming sites the day before on December 12.  BE'O was the second runner-up on Show Me The Money 10, the most recent season of the rap competition series. The 21-year-old artist is signed under FameUs Entertainment and previously participated in SMTM 7 and 9, and in the third season of High School Rapper under his name Yoo Chan-wook.  Currently fans can't get enough of the rapper's live performance of "Counting Stars" and the single is climbing on the charts. Mary J. Blige Returns with "Good Morning Gorgeous" and "Amazing"

The queen of R&B is back with two new singles. Ahead of a February album drop, singer Mary J. Blige released "Good Morning Gorgeous" with a visual, and "Amazing," featuring DJ Khaled on December 3. The first, "Good Morning Gorgeous" is a track of self-empowerment, self-reflection and self-love, connecting with everyone moving forward after the hurt, stress and pains of life--the single reminiscent of the vibe from Blige's 1994 "My Life" album. The official music video for the song, features the 50-year-old artist, looking stunning and beautiful. Her second new song-- "Amazing," a hip-hop collaboration with DJ Khaled, hits harder with an upbeat tempo. New Music: Jay Park And Wiz Khalifa Drop "Break Your Heart" Collab

Artists Jay Park and Wiz Khalifa have released their collaboration single "Break Your Heart." The track hit streaming sites on November 18 as part of 7SIX9 Entertainment's DREAM-X Project Album. Both entertainers are veterans in the music industry, but as the lyrics of their song suggest, the two may not be experts on relationships. Check out their track "Break Your Heart" below. Mirani Hits Hard in New Single - "Lambo!" feat. UNEDUCATED KID

South Korean rapper Mirani returns with a hot new flow in her new single-- "Lambo!" featuring UNEDUCATED KID. The artist dropped her BOYCOLD produced track, and the visual for it, on November 10, displaying her skills as a melodic rapper.  Mirani debuted in 2020 with the single “The Detective,” and was a contestant on the rap competition series "Show Me The Money." She's currently signed under AREA, which was founded by producer-duo GroovyRoom. 

New Music - Lolo Zouaï - "Scooter"

Singer Lolo Zouaï is back with a fun new single. The artist dropped her new song "Scooter" on November 3. The song follows the success of her 2019 breakout album - "High Highs to Low Lows," and her 2021 summer single- "Galipette." Check out the new music below.

Yaw Tog Returns With New Hot Single - "Sei Mu"

Rapper Yaw Tog is back with a new banger. The Ghanaian artist dropped his Khendi Beatz produced song "Sei Mu" on November 3. The single begins with a reggae Caribbean vibe before transitioning into a kpanlogo and Asakaa drill Ghana mix. Yaw Tog is best known for his viral song "Sore." He recently linked up with rapper Lific for his hit song "From Afar." Check out the new track below.

British R&B singer Ama Lou is back with a new single. The artist dropped her song- "Trust Nobody," with a black and white self-directed official visual on October 28. After An Impressive 'Show Me The Money 10' Producer Cypher performance - Gaeko Drops "Cheap Talk" feat. JUSTHIS

Amoeba Culture's Gaeko, who is one-half of South Korean hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo, dropped his CODE KUNST produced single "Cheap talk," featuring JUSTHIS on October 23. The track on YouTube includes subtitles in various languages, including English.  Many music fans first heard the song during Gaeko's standout performance on Mnet's  Show Me The Money 10 P roducer Cypher, which hit YouTube in September, ahead of the new season of the rap competition show. Gaeko and CODE KUNST make up one of the four producer-judge teams for SMTM 10 . Check out the single below. 

Keebomb Drops New EP - "Good Morning"

With a smooth flow, rapper Keebomb returns with a new fire EP. The South Korean artist released - "Good Morning" on streaming sites on October 20. The six-track mini-album features rappers Paloalto and Don Mills. Check it out below.

New Ghanaian Drill: Lific ft. Yaw Tog- "From Afar"

Back with a new UK drill-influenced banger, Ghanaian rapper Lific links-up with fellow Ghanaian artist Yaw Tog in his new single- "From Afar." The track hit streaming sites and YouTube on October 18. The single is a follow-up to Lific's 2020 drill street anthem- “Yagye Sika,” and is the first song off his upcoming EP. The collaboration with Yaw Tog follows Tog's blow-up from his viral song and Stormzy remix- "SORE."

RAMENGVRL Drops Visual for New pH-1 Collaboration - "Ain’t No MF"

Indonesian rapper RAMENGVRL teams up with Korean-American H1GHR MUSIC rapper pH-1 in her new song-- "Ain’t No MF." The artist dropped the single on October 15 on streaming sites, and released the official music video for it hours later on YouTube. In her lyrics she brags-- "there ain't no motha**** like me in the streets/won't you tell me if you seen her."  According to her bio, RAMENGVRL is a Jakarta-born and raised musician. Her breakthrough song 'CASHMERE' led her to win the award for best hip-hop song in 2019 at the Indonesian Music Awards. She released her debut album 'Can't Speak English' in 2020. Gump Drops Visual for Groovy New Song- "Sitcom"

South Korean artist Gump croons over smooth melodies in his new groovy track- "Sitcom." The song dropped with a quirky visual on October 13, under South Korean Indie music distributor -Mirrorball Music.  "Sitcom" is the title track of Gump's triple-single project, which also includes the songs "Merry-go" and "Fragile."  Check it out below. 

Cordae Levels Up in New Single - "Super"

With a fiery flow, rapper Cordae has returned with a new "Super" single and music video ahead of the release of his sophomore album, From A Bird’s Eye View.  The artist dropped his track "Super" and the visual for it on October 7. With it, Cordae brags about his Coca Cola Super Bowl commercial deal and flexes about the money he made in 2020. He also raps about why he dropped the “YBN” from his stage name. Check it out below.

Back for a second round of new sounds, 88rising's label PARADISE RISING has dropped a new EP featuring Filipino hip-hop and R&B artists. The 5-track "Semilucent 2" project hit streaming sites on October 4 with several visuals on YouTube. The mini-album includes music from Canadian duo MANILA GREY, as well as singers Steven Peregrina, Daze and Yuna (from Malaysia), rapper Curtismith, CA Christian Alexander and producer Manila Killa.
