Now Listening To: Filipino Hip-Hop and R&B - PARADISE RISING's EP "Semilucent 2"

Back for a second round of new sounds, 88rising's label PARADISE RISING has dropped a new EP featuring Filipino hip-hop and R&B artists. The 5-track "Semilucent 2" project hit streaming sites on October 4 with several visuals on YouTube. The mini-album includes music from Canadian duo MANILA GREY, as well as singers Steven Peregrina, Daze and Yuna (from Malaysia), rapper Curtismith, CA Christian Alexander and producer Manila Killa. The new music follows the first "Semilucent" EP, which rolled out in July 2020. Check out the new project below.

Concert Watch: Eric Nam North America Tour

He announced on social media on March 28, that the dates and venues will be released on Tuesday, April 3, and in a tweet wrote, "I’m coming to a city near you with new music." Just the day before, on March 27, he had announced that his new album was on the way, saying, his "first mini album in 2 years releases April 11," and "You’re gonna love it." According to the artist, ticket information for the upcoming tour will be found at ericnam.com. Eric Nam is a Korean-American singer born in Atlanta. In addition to singing, he is a great interviewer. During the Asia "Black Panther" premiere in Seoul, he got to interview the cast for the film, including Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jay Park Announces new H1GHR MUSIC Artist - Seo Donghyun a.k.a. Big Naughty

During the second and final day of his 2019  Off Route Fest in South Korea, co-CEO/entertainer Jay Park announced the newest member of his second label- H1GHR MUSIC, as rapper/singer Seo Donghyun a.k.a. Big Naughty. Park introduced the young artist on stage, on Oct. 6, in front of a crowd of thousands of people at the music festival, and later posted video of the moment to Instagram. According to Park, Donghyun is now the youngest member of the label (previously that title went to rapper Haon). Big Naughty was a contestant on season eight of the popular South Korean rap competition program - Show Me The Money (SMTM). He was eliminated in the semi-finals. Jay Park also currently has his own music audition competition show airing on MBN, in South Korea called SignHere . The show's goal is to find the next member of his first label - AOMG. Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). NEW NAME FOR BTS MEMBER (formerly Rap Monster)

The leader of the super popular kpop group BTS, from South Korea, has officially changed his name. Kim Nam-joon previously known as Rap Monster, has changed his stage name to RM. The announcement was published on the BTS official fan cafe on November 13.  RM wrote on it, that although he's been called Rap Monster for the past five years, he felt the need to change it, because that title was   getting more and more distant from the music done for the past 5 years.                                                                    -RM (via allkpop)    Back on September 19, 2017, Rap Monster announced on his Beats1Noisey Interview that he would be changing his name to RM. Bruno Mars shares Behind the Scenes clip from the Making of "24K Magic"

Bruno Mars has shared a never before seen clip of the making of "24K Magic," the title track and lead single from his third studio album (of the same name). On June 27, the singer uploaded video on Twitter and Instagram, and wrote that he found it in his cell phone.  The video shows producer Brody Brown and Mars trying to figure out the groove for "24k Magic" in 2015. According to Bruno Mars, they tried nearly 100 different patterns and pockets to finally land what we hear today (a Zapp & Roger inspired track). Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." Song of The Day: Khea - "Loca" (Remix) featuring Bad Bunny, Duki & Cazzu

The Spanish lyrics are explicit when translated into English, but this Latin Trap remix is so alluring, that you just can't help but to groove to it. Hip-hop artist Khea, from Argentina, dropped his "Loca" remix video featuring Bad Bunny, Duki and Cazzu back in April, and it currently has more than 173-million views on YouTube. The track, with its repetitive beat is about a "crazy" woman on social media, but towards the end of it, we hear the seductive female response from Argentine rapper Cazzu. CL Shares Clips Of Unreleased English MV - New Year's Day Gift For Fans

On January 1st, 2018, CL (Lee Chae-rin) posted clips on Instagram, of an unreleased music video, sung in English. And in the post before the video, she wrote on Instagram, that this time last year, she promised she would put out new music in 2017 (last year). She said the video that she was posting, was shot over a year ago, and it may or may not ever officially come out, but she loved it, and was sad that it wasn't released. She even wrote that she might get in trouble for showing clips of the video on Instagram. CL, the former lead rapper of the now disbanded kpop girl group, 2NE1, had been in the U.S. working on an English language album, when she released her last hit single in English, "Lifted," in 2016. It currently has more than 26 million views on YouTube.
