Now Listening To: Filipino Hip-Hop and R&B - PARADISE RISING's EP "Semilucent 2"

Back for a second round of new sounds, 88rising's label PARADISE RISING has dropped a new EP featuring Filipino hip-hop and R&B artists. The 5-track "Semilucent 2" project hit streaming sites on October 4 with several visuals on YouTube. The mini-album includes music from Canadian duo MANILA GREY, as well as singers Steven Peregrina, Daze and Yuna (from Malaysia), rapper Curtismith, CA Christian Alexander and producer Manila Killa. The new music follows the first "Semilucent" EP, which rolled out in July 2020. Check out the new project below.

Now Listening To: Tyla's - "Water" - The single that's now at the Top of Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart

South African singer-songwriter Tyla is one of the hottest rising stars of 2023. She's currently taking over social media with her TikTok viral dance challenge from her latest single- “Water.” The song hit streaming sites in July. The official music video arrived on YouTube on October 6. It's currently (as of this writing) trending #26 on the site with nearly 13 million views.  According to Billboard, “Water” has also climbed to #1 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart, dated Oct. 21-- stopping the record 58-week streak from Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down,” which had led the list since Sept. 10, 2022. “Water” marks Tyla's first top spot on any Billboard chart.  The 21-year-old Johannesburg native debuted with her first music video: "Getting Late," featuring Kooldrink in 2021. Fans still have questions about ECÂF after the release of Ruel's new single & MV - "Face To Face"

(Updated September 10) - Ruel has dropped the Behind The Scenes video for "Face To Face." On Sept. 10, he revealed that the actress portraying ECÂF in the music video and on Twitter, is named Tatiana. And the person who sings the vocals for her single release, "Pictures," is actually Ruel's sister Coco. Original Post (08/11/19) ... Global teen sensation Ruel shares a social media obsession in the visual for his new single - "Face To Face." The 16-year-old singer from Australia dropped the official music video for his song on August 8th. South Korean rapper Coogie drops new single as contract with AOMG expires

South Korean artist Coogie dropped his new single "1,2,3,4,5" on January 23, 2025--the same day record label AOMG announced its exclusive contract with the rapper had come to an end. Coogie signed with AOMG in 2022.  He was previously signed under hip-hop label ATMseoul. He became known for his sing-song melodic rap style after participating in the South Korean rap competition series Show Me The Money 777 in 2018.  The translation to AOMG's post on X reads... "Hello, this is AOMG. We would like to inform you that Coogie's exclusive contract has ended on January 23, 2025. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who have shown much support and interest in Coogie and his wonderful activities that have made AOMG shine for a long time. CONCERT WATCH: Bruno Mars Adds New Opening Acts to '24K Magic World Tour' - Ella Mai, Ciara, Boyz II Men and Charlie Wilson

In a hilarious photoshopped Instagram video post on August 14, funk singer Bruno Mars announced a lineup of special guests to replace Cardi B on the final leg of the  24K Magic World Tour.  The decision to add the four new acts comes after Cardi B dropped out of the tour in late July after giving birth to her daughter. Hitting the stage at various points during the U.S. stops, will be Ciara, Ella Mai, Boyz II Men and Charlie Wilson. Each will perform as openers for a number of shows, beginning with Boyz II Men in Denver, Colorado on September 7th. The 24K Magic World Tour  began in early 2017, and will end in November (2018) with three homecoming shows in Hawaii. More information can be found on the  Bruno Mars website. Jay Park to embark on a "Serenades & Body Rolls" world tour

Seattle to Seoul artist Jay Park has announced plans to embark on a "Serenades & Body Rolls" world tour. The entertainer posted on social media that it will be his first tour in six years, kicking off the 10th anniversary of his hit hip-hop song "MOMMAE," featuring Ugly Duck. Park dropped "MOMMAE" with a freaky visual on May 22, 2015. In his post on February 21, 2025, officially announcing his tour, Park asked fans to leave a comment, if they want to see him perform in their city. First Tour in 6 YEARS!! Jay Park to Kick off First World Tour in Seoul

Hip-Hop/R&B Roc Nation artist Jay Park has announced the beginning of his first world tour. The AOMG/H1GHR MUSIC CEO's "SEXY 4EVA" World Tour kicks off in Seoul, South Korea on Saturday, July 6th at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, July 7th at 6 p.m. The title of the tour is from a track off his 2018 "Ask Bout Me" U.S. debut EP for Roc Nation. Park released the music video for the song, "Sexy 4 Eva" back on September 25th. According to AOMG, the concerts in Seoul will be held at Olympic Hall, in Olympic Park. Tickets go on sale May 17th, at 8 p.m. (KST) on the INTERPARK website. According to Park's tweet on Twitter, more dates and cities will be announced later. Coachella 2020 Lineup Includes South Korean kpop group BIGBANG & Epik High

Coachella announced its full 2020 lineup on Jan. 3. Headlining are Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott. Two groups from South Korea will also perform during the two-weekend music festival in April-- BIGBANG and Epik High. Epik High also performed at the festival in 2016. This is the first announced performance for BIGBANG, since its members enlisted in South Korea's military, and since the controversial departure of former member Seungri. The singer left the group due to a criminal investigation against him. BIGBANG is one of the most influential kpop acts to come out of South Korea. Its current members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P and Daesung last performed in the United States back in 2015, during their Made World Tour. The tour listed on Pollstar's year end list. R&B singers Hoody & Crush fall for each other in new music and MV "Sunshine"

A little "Sunshine" to warm up the autumn cool.  AOMG singer Hoody released her latest single and an official music video to go with it, on October 22nd. Produced by Cha Cha Malone, the song "Sunshine," featuring Crush (from Amoeba Culture) is about the warmth that comes with love. The collaboration between the South Korean R&B singers, has a twist in the music video. In the visual, the two are next-door neighbors who are frustrated by each other, to the point of destruction, until a surprise cameo by AOMG's rapper Simon Dominic, who brings them together. Vietnamese Rapper Suboi - Drops MV for Summer Anthem "N-SAO?"

Suboi is now known as Vietnam's queen of hip-hop, after becoming the first successful female Vietnamese rapper in her country. On August 2nd, she released the official music video on the 88rising YouTube channel, for her latest track, "N-SAO?"  On it, the 28-year-old artist spits bars over a club beat. Suboi has been making music since 2007. Her last EP, "2.7," dropped in October of 2017.  In 2016, she freestyled for former U.S. President Barack Obama during his visit to Vietnam. Her new song, in Vietnamese (with English subtitles on the visual), is a summer anthem about empowerment.  Check out the music video down below.
