New Music: Sasaeg - "Soulstone"

South Korean rapper Sasaeg has released his latest hip-hop project. The artist dropped "Soulstone" on January 21. The 8-track self-produced album includes the jazz infused song-- "Belief." The project follows the release of his 2021 EP "Stair Landing" and triple single - "Fuzz." Check out "Soulstone" below.

NEW MUSIC: Planetarium Records / PLT - "IGOHOLIC"

Planetarium Records may not be dominating the charts right now, but the artists from the South Korean label have come out flexin, and right now, they are the ones to watch. PLT as a collective, dropped a new single with a music video, "IGOHOLIC," on September 17. The track is a trap release, featuring Jung JinWoo, Gaho, Moti, June and Villain; rapping in the visual from a helicopter hangar. With Villain's verse towards the end - "I think I'm an alcoholic. I'm whisky dialing you all day. I'll give you that workaholic. Stop working hard, it's your birthday." The new hip-hop music follows the R&B releases in August from the label, with "Insomniac," from Jung Jin Woo and Gaho. And "Days" from June, Moti and Villain. Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod." The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). AOMG Welcomes Sogumm to the Label after her "Signhere" win on MBN

South Korean label AOMG (founded by Jay Park), now has two female artists. AOMG welcomed Sogumm to the team on October 31, after the final episode of Signhere on MBN. The singer took home first place, on the competition show. Her total scores for her performance beating out Meloh, Maddox and MBA. Sogumm joins Hoody, and a crew of popular male artists, as the second woman signed to AOMG. Hoody became the first female artist to sign to the hip-hop and R&B record label back in 2015. New Music & MV: FANXY CHILD - "Y" featuring Zico, Crush, Dean, Penomeco, Millic & Staytuned

Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." FANXY CHILD will hold their first concert as a crew on August 10 and 11. Check out their new music below.

R&B singers Hoody & Crush fall for each other in new music and MV "Sunshine"

A little "Sunshine" to warm up the autumn cool. AOMG singer Hoody released her latest single and an official music video to go with it, on October 22nd. Produced by Cha Cha Malone, the song "Sunshine," featuring Crush (from Amoeba Culture) is about the warmth that comes with love. The collaboration between the South Korean R&B singers, has a twist in the music video. In the visual, the two are next-door neighbors who are frustrated by each other, to the point of destruction, until a surprise cameo by AOMG's rapper Simon Dominic, who brings them together. R&B singer SOMA not holding back in new MV "Betty," off her first full-length album "SEIREN"

With explicit lyrics you normally don't hear from South Korean female artists, singer-songwriter SOMA shared her alt-R&B sultry track "Betty," with the release of an official music video for it on YouTube on March 2nd (EST). The song, in English and Korean, is off her first full-length album "SEIREN." Part A of the album dropped on streaming sites on March 3rd (KST). Part B releases on March 14. The new music is in celebration of SOMA's second anniversary of her debut EP "Somablu" with label Stoneship.

Bruno Mars shares Behind the Scenes clip from the Making of "24K Magic"

Bruno Mars has shared a never before seen clip of the making of "24K Magic," the title track and lead single from his third studio album (of the same name). On June 27, the singer uploaded video on Twitter and Instagram, and wrote that he found it in his cell phone. The video shows producer Brody Brown and Mars trying to figure out the groove for "24k Magic" in 2015. According to Bruno Mars, they tried nearly 100 different patterns and pockets to finally land what we hear today (a Zapp & Roger inspired track). A "Cold" Feature on the way for rapper Hanhae, even after dropping his "About Time" EP & "Flashback" MV and enlisting in the South Korean Military

Before leaving for the South Korean military on February 7, and posting the picture above to Instagram, South Korean rapper Hanhae, finished working on his latest EP titled "About Time." It dropped one day after he left to serve his country as a conscripted policeman. The BRANDNEW MUSIC artist (and former Show Me The Money contestant) included six songs of fast and smooth flow on his mini-album. A standout on the EP, is the melodic "About Time" title track, featuring the buttery vocals of BADMINTON. An official music video for the track 'Flashback' also dropped with the EP. It features concert clips and behind the scenes footage. Lucky for fans, there is still more to come from the former Phantom member and “Amazing Saturday” variety show cast member.
