Rappers oygli, PUFF DAEHEE, Ugly Duck & Paloalto Team Up for "Around Here" Project

Helping to spotlight one of the 25 districts in Seoul, South Korea, rappers oygli, PUFF DAEHEE (from 8BallTown), Ugly Duck (from AOMG) and Paloalto (founder of Hi-Lite Records) have teamed up for a new song- "Around Here." The BRLLNT produced track hit streaming sites, with an official visual on February 20, as part of a project to revitalize the Yongsan-gu region. The music video was filmed in the Itaewon area of the district. Check it out below.

Tickets for Jay Park's "Serenades & Body Rolls" tour featuring LNGSHOT are going fast

Fans hoping to get a ticket to the second part of Jay Park's "Serenades & Body Rolls" tour featuring his new KPOP group LNGSHOT may be out of luck soon. Tickets are going fast. Park announced on June 9th he and his group would be hitting the stage in September and October. Tickets for the general public went on sale on Friday, June 12th, with many venues close to selling out seats near the main stage by Sunday, June 14th. Park first announced his "Serenades & Body Rolls" tour in February 2025, hitting cities in Asia. This time around, he and his new boy band will perform in the United States, Europe and South America, his first in the U.S. in seven years and the first in South America. Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod." The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. Bruno Mars has shared a never before seen clip of the making of "24K Magic," the title track and lead single from his third studio album (of the same name). On June 27, the singer uploaded video on Twitter and Instagram, and wrote that he found it in his cell phone. The video shows producer Brody Brown and Mars trying to figure out the groove for "24k Magic" in 2015. Former 'K-pop Star 5' Singer - Lexie Liu - Now Signed with 88rising

U.S. media company, 88rising, announced a new addition to their label on June 19, with a tweet that read, "Introducing Lexie Liu Boxin to the 88rising gang." The tweet included a link to Lexie Liu's new video, "Like A Mercedes," which dropped on the 88rising YouTube channel. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter from China, might be a familiar face for some kpop fans. According to media reports, in 2015, she participated in K-pop Star 5 , a South Korean competition show, where agencies hold auditions to find potential kpop stars. She came in fourth place, and was offered a deal with one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, YG Entertainment, but she later declined. The singer's debut single and mv for 88rising, "Like A Mercedes," centers around a cyberpunk virtual reality storyline, with R&B and melodic hip-hop sounds in English and Chinese. NEW MUSIC: South Korean rapper Simon Dominic collaborates with American rapper Pharoahe Monch in a new "Simon Says"

American lyricist Pharoahe Monch has had a huge impact on South Korean rapper Simon Dominic. In a translated interview with HIPHOPLE , the AOMG artist said he discovered Pharoahe Monch's music in 2002, after listening to Monch's feature on Mos Def's track "Oh No" with Nate Dogg. From his complex rhymes and flows, the Queens (New York) MC played a "trigger" for Dominic while he was promoting underground and inspired him to be better. But it was the track "Simon Says" from Monch's Internal Affairs solo debut album, that changed everything for Simon Dominic, who at the time was going by the stage name K-OUTA. H1GHR MUSIC Tour Recap - The Final Stop - With Jay Park In Seattle

A lot happened during the final stop of the 2018 H1GHR MUSIC tour. The Seattle, WA concert included performances of unreleased tracks, a b-boy dance break from AOM, a music video shoot in the middle of the venue, and a surprise appearance from label co-CEO Jay Park. Rapper San E takes a jab at South Korean Hip-Hop industry in new music video - "Wannabe Rapper"- inspired by Childish Gambino's - "This Is America"

He even calls out the popular rap competition series Show Me The Money, in which San E has been a producer/judge in past seasons. The video hit YouTube on October 10. NEW MUSIC ON THE WAY: Tiger JK to Release Final Album as "Drunken Tiger"

Korean hip-hop legend Tiger JK has announced that he will be dropping a new album, which will be his last, under the name "Drunken Tiger." Per media reports, Tiger JK announced on Friday, April 6, that new music for Drunken Tiger's last album will be out on April 13. According to The Korea Herald, Drunken Tiger is the name of Tiger JK's hip-hop duo with DJ Shine, which debuted in 1999, as pioneers for Korean Hip-Hop. DJ Shine left in 2005, but Tiger JK continued releasing new tracks under Drunken Tiger. The upcoming 10th album will be the first in nine years, under Drunken Tiger, since "Feel gHood Muzik : The 8th Wonder" in 2009. In 2013, Tiger JK teamed up with his wife Yoon Mi Rae and rapper Bizzy to form the group MFBTY, an acronym for "My Fans are Better Than Yours." Soon after, he founded a new label, Feel Ghood Music.
