Rappers oygli, PUFF DAEHEE, Ugly Duck & Paloalto Team Up for "Around Here" Project

Helping to spotlight one of the 25 districts in Seoul, South Korea, rappers oygli, PUFF DAEHEE (from 8BallTown), Ugly Duck (from AOMG) and Paloalto (founder of Hi-Lite Records) have teamed up for a new song- "Around Here." The BRLLNT produced track hit streaming sites, with an official visual on February 20, as part of a project to revitalize the Yongsan-gu region. The music video was filmed in the Itaewon area of the district. Check it out below.

NEW NAME FOR BTS MEMBER (formerly Rap Monster)

The leader of the super popular kpop group BTS, from South Korea, has officially changed his name. Kim Nam-joon previously known as Rap Monster, has changed his stage name to RM. The announcement was published on the BTS official fan cafe on November 13. New Music: A.CHAL - "Numb The Pain"

Peruvian-American singer A.CHAL (Alejandro Chal Salazar) is working through his emotions in his new single "Numb The Pain". The artist dropped his new song and the official music video for it on October 13. On social media A.CHAL says the visual was shot in Huanchaco, Trujillo, Peru. He says as a child he remembers living there on the sand in a small hut. The singer says the song itself was recorded in Paris. Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod." The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). Showing her vocal range as an R&B artist, singer Kiana Ledé released "Take It All" on July 13, as one of seven songs on her new EP "Selfless." "Take It All" stands out on the mini album. CONCERT WATCH: BTS World Tour - "Love Yourself "

Fans in love with BTS will get to see the kpop group live in concert in 2018. Big Hit Entertainment, the company for the South Korean boy band, announced on April 26, that the seven member group will be kicking off a "Love Yourself" World Tour on August 25th in Seoul. BTS will then perform in Los Angeles, CA on September 5, 6 & 8, followed by stops in Oakland, CA, Fort Worth, TX, Hamilton, Ontario, Newark, NJ, Chicago, IL, London, England, Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Berlin, Germany, and Paris, France. A video teaser for the tour has been uploaded on the Big Hit YouTube channel , and more dates are expected to be announced. Powerhouse Live, a tour management company, has posted on social media that ticket information for the BTS World Tour will be released on April 27, at 7 a.m. (PDT). South Korean rapper Coogie drops new single as contract with AOMG expires

South Korean artist Coogie dropped his new single "1,2,3,4,5" on January 23, 2025--the same day record label AOMG announced its exclusive contract with the rapper had come to an end. Coogie signed with AOMG in 2022. He was previously signed under hip-hop label ATMseoul. He became known for his sing-song melodic rap style after participating in the South Korean rap competition series Show Me The Money 777 in 2018. The translation to AOMG's post on X reads... Sik-K begs a Woman to Stay in New Video Drop - "XIBAL"

Looks like H1GHR MUSIC's trap rapper Sik-K, has messed up big time in the romance department. In his new music video, he's begging a woman to stay with him. The MV for his song "XIBAL" dropped on September 20 with English subtitles, ahead of a full release. New Music and Video Drop: Jay Park - "FSU" ft. GASHI & Rich The Kid

On the second single release, from his upcoming Roc Nation debut album, "Ask ‘Bout Me," hip-hop artist Jay Park spits, "I do R&B, but they want me to rap." The track, "FSU," along with the visual for it, dropped on July 6, and features rappers GASHI and Rich The Kid.
