Gump Drops Visual for Groovy New Song- "Sitcom"

South Korean artist Gump croons over smooth melodies in his new groovy track- "Sitcom." The song dropped with a quirky visual on October 13, under South Korean Indie music distributor -Mirrorball Music. 

"Sitcom" is the title track of Gump's triple-single project, which also includes the songs "Merry-go" and "Fragile."  Check it out below.

South Korean Hip-Hop Label Hi-Lite Records Disbands after 12 Years

Another loss for the hip-hop industry in South Korea. On April 20, Hi-Lite Records founder and former CEO Paloalto announced the disbandment of the label during his Instagram Live. Paloalto created the company in 2010. He stepped down as CEO in 2020 , but remained on as a recording artist. The label was most recently home to other artists such as Reddy, Huckleberry P, Swervy, Owell Mood, Soovi, jerd and Ash-B.  Hi-Lite Records posted a statement on its social media platforms following Paloalto's announcement saying in part...  "As many of you heard through Paloalto’s Instagram Live, we have decided to officially disband the Hi-Lite Records label. A number of different situations and circumstances led to this decision. Above all, know that this decision was made to ensure the best possible future for our artists and employees." Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." New Music: Lil Boi - "David" with just the right Old School Feels

Mixing up the hip-hop beats with old school R&B, South Korean rapper Lil Boi returned for a two-track single release on December 7th, titled "David." Lil Boi, a member of the duo Geeks, is managed under Grandline Entertainment. His new release consist of the tracks, "Go" and "David," (featuring Kim E-Z), which the latter track begins with a piano melody on love, but then switches the beat for a bounce flow. According to the agency, "David" is a prologue to the rapper's upcoming first full-length album; "Meantime," but the track "Go" will not be on it. Many Show Me The Money fans may remember Lil Boi from season four in 2015, as a contestant with team AOMG, with Jay Park and Loco as producers/judges and Geegooin, Sik-K and David Kim as team members. by Nefertiti Jenkins Korean R&B singer June, from Planetarium Records, released a music video for his new song "Sérénade" on April 17, and his smooth and sweet vocals on the visual will melt your heart. The video opens at a gas station with June in a dune buggy with a California license plate, and then transitions to shots of June singing from a basketball court. The song is the title track from his two track release called "Sérénade" which dropped on April 18. The second single is called "The Moment." You can find both on Apple Music and iTunes. June is a former trainee under the kpop label BigHit Entertainment and composer of several songs of BTS. Bruno Mars shares Behind the Scenes clip from the Making of "24K Magic"

Bruno Mars has shared a never before seen clip of the making of "24K Magic," the title track and lead single from his third studio album (of the same name). On June 27, the singer uploaded video on Twitter and Instagram, and wrote that he found it in his cell phone.  The video shows producer Brody Brown and Mars trying to figure out the groove for "24k Magic" in 2015. According to Bruno Mars, they tried nearly 100 different patterns and pockets to finally land what we hear today (a Zapp & Roger inspired track). B.I links up with Soulja Boy and DeVita in new song - "BTBT"

South Korean rapper and singer B.I dropped his new collaboration "BTBT," with American rapper Soulja Boy on May 13. His song featuring AOMG singer DeVita, is a pre-release off his upcoming album project "LOVE OR LOVED [L.O.L]." The single is a mixture of dance vibes with afrobeat backgrounds. The song title refers to a Korean phrase that means staggering.  B.I is a former member of Kpop group iKON, and he's now releasing music as a solo artist under his 131 Label, affiliated with IOK Music. On May 13, the rapper released a futuristic music video with the rollout for "BTBT." He has also announced a performance video with choreography by AITTY TOO for the single. That visual is due out on May 17 (or May 18 KST).

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). NEW ALBUM DROP: Ted Park - "Zeus" - The EP

"Bops for the rest of your summer." That's what H1GHR MUSIC artist Ted Park teased in a tweet, ahead of the release of his new mini album, "Zeus."  The EP dropped on July 9, on digital platforms, and includes five songs. The first track "Shake," includes a tropical/Caribbean beat. For some fans, they got a live performance of it, from the melodic singer/rapper, during the H1GHR MUSIC tour earlier this year. The second track, "We Gonn See," features H1GHR MUSIC co-CEO Jay Park, and with its synth infused sounds, includes the lyrics, "I'm the one that can give you yellow fever."
