NEW MUSIC DROP: Syler - "More People More Problems"

In the lead single off his new album, South Korean rapper Syler pays homage to The Notorious B.I.G., the American rapper killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. The title of Syler's album, "More People More Problems," is a spin on Biggie's single "Mo Money Mo Problems," featuring Mase and Puff Daddy (Sean Combs/P. Diddy). 

Syler's 7-track project hit streaming sites on October 11, with known South Korean R&B and hip-hop artists featured on the album including JINBO the Superfreak, Alisha, Mutang, The $eoul kid, 24 Flakko, Mckdaddy, Owen Ovadoz and LT.

Some of the tracks contain explicit language. You can find the album on streaming sites. Listen to the Apple Music preview below.

by Nefertiti Jenkins A magical weekend in New York City. On Saturday, January 27, Roc Nation held its pre-2018 Grammy Awards brunch at the One World Trade Center. A lot of big names in the music industry were there, including the founder of Roc Nation, Jay-Z, and his beautiful wife Beyoncé. Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. NEW VIDEO DROP: Jay Park - Releases Official Music Video for "SOJU" ft. 2 Chainz

Bridging cultures with alcohol. Jay Park has released the official music video for his new single "SOJU," featuring Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz. The singer/rapper from Seattle and South Korea, uploaded the mv to his YouTube channel on June 14 (after it premiered first with The Fader ). Jay Park is signed with Roc Nation, and is co-CEO of two other labels (H1GHR MUSIC and AOMG). He first introduced the song to fans back in March at South by Southwest. The single then dropped on May 25th . The official music video starts with guys hanging outside a liquor store, and then follows Park as he purchases bottles of Soju inside. He joins 2 Chainz later, at a Korean restaurant. From pictures and videos released months ago, we know that the shoot for this took place someplace in or around Atlanta. South Korean R&B singer JINBO, may have built his ideal woman as an AI robot, in his latest music video. The SuperFreakRecords' artist released the mv for "You Just Have To" on August 28, and you may have to watch it a couple of times, to get the plot twist. The visual comes after the August 14 release of his music video "So To Speak," with Crush and Hoody, which honors Kim SungJae, a member of the '90s duo DEUX, who died a suspicious death after his solo debut. JINBO's new music video was directed by 725, and has a sexy-tragic storyline. The song produced by Nounou Paris, was written by JINBO the SuperFreak himself. Rapper Shotta Spence Shares his Mother's Story

Shotta Spence, the 21-year-old up and coming rapper from New Jersey, shared part of his mother's journey from Vietnam, on Instagram, on Monday, September 4, as he wished her a Happy Birthday, and thanked her for supporting him as an artist. In his post, Shotta Spence (Spence Lee) wrote that when his mother was a little girl in Vietnam,  "the communist North had taken everything from her family. During the war, her parents and siblings had to escape further south in a TANK. The South Vietnamese and the Americans were losing the war, and she got separated from her family in the chaos.
