Rapper Shotta Spence Shares his Mother's Story

Shotta Spence, the 21-year-old up and coming rapper from New Jersey, shared part of his mother's journey from Vietnam, on Instagram, on Monday, September 4, as he wished her a Happy Birthday, and thanked her for supporting him as an artist. In his post, Shotta Spence (Spence Lee) wrote that when his mother was a little girl in Vietnam,  "the communist North had taken everything from her family. During the war, her parents and siblings had to escape further south in a TANK. The South Vietnamese and the Americans were losing the war, and she got separated from her family in the chaos. U.S. soldiers evacuated her via "Operation Babylift" ... on the LAST flight out." Avatar Darko Officially Signs With H1GHR MUSIC

Seattle Rapper Avatar Darko, has officially signed with hip-hop label H1GHR MUSIC. The CEOs, Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone, posted the official video on June 5th, to social media of Avatar signing the contract, and receiving his H1GHR MUSIC gold chain.  The new signee is fresh off a U.S. tour with his H1GHR MUSIC labelmates (which wrapped on May 8th in Seattle). On Sept. 10, he revealed that the actress portraying ECÂF in the music video and on Twitter, is named Tatiana. Mural of Rapper Dumbfoundead Vandalized

The iconic mural of rapper Dumbfoundead painted on the side of Catalina Liquor in Koreatown in Los Angeles, has been vandalized-- that's according to a social media post from the artist. A picture of the vandalism, shows letters spray painted across it. On July 16th, Dumbfoundead thanked painter Joseph Yun Lee and Catalina Liquor on Instagram for "wanting to keep the mural up as long as they did."  The mural was originally painted for the rapper's 2016 music video "Murals," a visual off his "We Might Die" album. Last year, he tweeted that he was getting a least one tagged photo a day from fans who had taken a picture in front of it. Dumbfoundead is now asking fans to send pictures or videos they had taken in front of the mural to muralsforever@gmail.com or tag him, so he can use the images in a video. Song of The Day: Lolo Zouaï - "Moi"

Sexy and seductive-- the vibe from Lolo Zouaï's track "Moi," a song where she tells her lover in French and English, that she's leaving him. The track, with an intoxicating finale, is off Zouaï's April debut album, "High Highs to Low Lows." The French-Algerian American singer/songwriter told PAPER magazine that she wrote the song after a stay and a relationship with an older man in Paris. According to a June tweet from the artist, she was born in Paris, moved to San Francisco when she was three months old, and lived there until she was 18, before moving to New York. Zouaï is now traveling the world, promoting her music. In mid-August she performed "Moi" on stage in South Korea with ALiEN Dance Studio, as backup dancers, who also dropped a choreography video in collaboration with the singer. Just Jerk Crew Performs During Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

We're only two months in, and 2018 has already been a good year for Just Jerk Crew. They are the featured backup dancers in the official music video for Jay Park and Yultron's "Forget About Tomorrow," and they just recently announced the opening of their new dance academy in South Korea. The popular urban dance team from Seoul, has been making moves together since 2010, and has even competed on America's Got Talent, season 12. Now, the group is getting even more international recognition, after performing live during the Opening Ceremony for the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. The group has shared a clip of the performance on Instagram, and some of the members have even shared behind the scenes group photos. Rapper San E takes a jab at South Korean Hip-Hop industry in new music video - "Wannabe Rapper"- inspired by Childish Gambino's - "This Is America"

He even calls out the popular rap competition series Show Me The Money, in which San E has been a producer/judge in past seasons. The video hit YouTube on October 10. According to the artist, it was inspired by American rapper Childish Gambino's "This Is America" video, which addresses gun violence, racism and discrimination against African-Americans in the United States. San E uses the voices of children, as a metaphor on the state of hip-hop, to show that the genre is still in its youth in South Korea. In San E's track and MV, he calls out entertainers who become rappers for material gain and fame. He also focuses on social issues like suicide and female interaction/feminism. BamBam from GOT7 delivers a trap hook and flow, with Thai rapper F.HERO (ฟักกลิ้ง ฮีโร่) on the new KILO KEYS produced track - "Do You." Drake and Jack Harlow shoot music video during The Kentucky Derby for song "Churchill Downs"

On the eve of the 148th running of the Kentucky Derby, Louisville native and rapper, 24-year-old Jack Harlow dropped his new album- "Come Home the Kids Miss You." The project hit streaming sites on May 6th, one day before the May 7th Derby at the Churchill Downs horse-racetrack in Louisville.  Harlow's album includes the Drake-assisted song "Churchill Downs," in which the two rappers share lyrics of introspection before Drake wraps up the more than five minute track with... Hip-hop is dominating the charts from around the world. During the week ending April 9, some hot new music hit streaming sites, including new hits from Louisville, KY rapper Jack Harlow, Argentine artist Paulo Londra and South Korean rapper ChaMane. Jack Harlow's banger "First Class" rolled out on streaming sites on April 8, with an official visualizer (that's currently trending on YouTube) just days after a preview of the song on social media with the artist in the studio went viral.
