Coachella announced its full 2020 lineup on Jan. 3. Headlining are Rage Against the Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott. Two groups from South Korea will also perform during the two-weekend music festival in April-- BIGBANG and Epik High. Epik High also performed at the festival in 2016.
This is the first announced performance for BIGBANG, since its members enlisted in South Korea's military, and since the controversial departure of former member Seungri. The singer left the group due to a criminal investigation against him.
BIGBANG is one of the most influential kpop acts to come out of South Korea. Its current members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P and Daesung last performed in the United States back in 2015, during their Made World Tour. The tour listed on Pollstar's year end list. BIGBANG ranked 126 on the Top 200 North American Tours and earned $7.8 million from four shows.
Coachella this year takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California on April 10-12 and 17-19. According to organizers, the first weekend is sold out. Presale for the second weekend begins on Monday, January 6, at 12 p.m. (PT).
