ALL in GOOD FUN: Jay Park responds to pH-1, Sik-K, Woodie Gochild & Haon's verse taunts promoting upcoming H1GHR MUSIC collaboration release - "WATER"

The latest label collaboration for H1GHR MUSIC is due out on July 30th. The title of the song is "WATER." It features label co-CEO Jay Park, as well as his artists pH-1, Sik-K, Woodie Gochild and Haon. To build hype for it, the rappers have been taunting each other with braggadocious disses on social media about who has the best verse on the track.

On July 26, pH-1 tweeted on twitter and captioned on Instagram, along with video with his dog Holly listening to the song, saying "so Holly the critic tells me that my verse on this unreleased H1GHR track was the coldest... you be the judge on 07/30."

Also on July 26, on Instagram Story, Sik-K shared video of himself jamming to "WATER," but also shaking his head on the verses featuring the other artists. Sik-K also replied to pH-1's tweet, writing "Plz somebody tell him my hook is everything not his verse."

Woodie Gochild stepped in on July 27, on Instagram, dissing the other rappers' verses, and dancing to his own. Haon jumped into the ring on Instagram on July 28, splashing himself with a cup of water, while wearing two colorful hats and red headphones.

Hours later, also on July 28, their boss, Jay Park responded with his own barbs on Instagram, taking jabs at each of his artists (on the track), and breaking down their verses in Korean and English, saying in part - "It's pronounced Wa-ter," to Sik-K, and mocking how he delivers the hook. Park also goes on to school Woodie Gochild, pH-1 and Haon before boasting about his own flow. 

Of course, fans know all of the digs are all in good fun. Fans are looking forward to listening to the full track for "WATER" on July 30.

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. The Newest Member of AOMG - CODE KUNST - Drops Emotional Track & MV - "Rain Bird" feat. Tablo & Colde

Former HIGHGRND Producer, Code Kunst, is now the newest member of AOMG -- the Korean hip-hop (and R&B) label run by Jay Park and Simon Dominic.  AOMG revealed the news to fans on June 10, with the release of Code Kunst's new single and music video, "Rain Bird," featuring his former YG Entertainment- HIGHGRND sub-labelmates, Tablo (of Epik High) and Colde (from offonoff). HIGHGRND was founded by Tablo in 2015. He stepped down from his position in 2017. According to Soompi magazine, HIGHGRND is now a part of YG Entertainment’s subsidiary, YGX, with BIGBANG’s Seungri as the CEO. Colde is now with WAVY. Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." Song of the Day: Jay Park - "Whenever"

Jay Park dropped his R&B single "Whenever" one year ago, on July 23, 2025.  Crooning "call me whenever" in an English and Japanese version.  The Japanese version includes a passionate live clip on YouTube from part one of his Serenades & Body Rolls tour last year in Japan. Since then, Park has announced part two for 2026 , which includes his More Vision South Korean boy band LNGSHOT.  This second leg of the tour kicks off on September 3 in São Paulo, Brazil with stops in Mexico, North America and Europe. No word if he'll perform this song, but for now, Jay Park's "Whenever" is today's Song of the Day.

Song of The Day: Kiana Ledé - "Take It All"

Showing her vocal range as an R&B artist, singer Kiana Ledé released "Take It All" on July 13, as one of seven songs on her new EP "Selfless." "Take It All" stands out on the mini album. The mostly acoustic track connects on an emotional level of maturity, which makes it today's Song of The Day. The 21-year-old artist has been active since she was a child, after winning a  Kidz Bop's Kidz Star USA talent competition in 2011. Tickets for Jay Park's "Serenades & Body Rolls" tour featuring LNGSHOT are going fast

Fans hoping to get a ticket to the second part of Jay Park's "Serenades & Body Rolls" tour featuring his new KPOP group LNGSHOT may be out of luck soon. Tickets are going fast.  Park announced on June 9th he and his group would be hitting the stage in September and October. Tickets for the general public went on sale on Friday, June 12th, with many venues close to selling out seats near the main stage by Sunday, June 14th. Park first announced his "Serenades & Body Rolls" tour in February 2025, hitting cities in Asia. This time around, he and his new boy band will perform in the United States, Europe and South America, his first in the U.S. in seven years and the first in South America. Bruno Mars shares Behind the Scenes clip from the Making of "24K Magic"

Bruno Mars has shared a never before seen clip of the making of "24K Magic," the title track and lead single from his third studio album (of the same name). On June 27, the singer uploaded video on Twitter and Instagram, and wrote that he found it in his cell phone.  The video shows producer Brody Brown and Mars trying to figure out the groove for "24k Magic" in 2015. According to Bruno Mars, they tried nearly 100 different patterns and pockets to finally land what we hear today (a Zapp & Roger inspired track). Former 'K-pop Star 5' Singer - Lexie Liu - Now Signed with 88rising

U.S. media company, 88rising, announced a new addition to their label on June 19, with a tweet that read, "Introducing Lexie Liu Boxin to the 88rising gang." The tweet included a link to Lexie Liu's new video, "Like A Mercedes," which dropped on the 88rising YouTube channel. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter from China, might be a familiar face for some kpop fans. According to media reports, in 2015, she participated in K-pop Star 5 , a South Korean competition show, where agencies hold auditions to find potential kpop stars. She came in fourth place, and was offered a deal with one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, YG Entertainment, but she later declined. The singer's debut single and mv for 88rising, "Like A Mercedes," centers around a cyberpunk virtual reality storyline, with R&B and melodic hip-hop sounds in English and Chinese. NEW MUSIC: South Korean rapper Simon Dominic collaborates with American rapper Pharoahe Monch in a new "Simon Says"

American lyricist Pharoahe Monch has had a huge impact on South Korean rapper Simon Dominic. In a translated interview with HIPHOPLE , the AOMG artist said he discovered Pharoahe Monch's music in 2002, after listening to Monch's feature on Mos Def's track "Oh No" with Nate Dogg. From his complex rhymes and flows, the Queens (New York) MC played a "trigger" for Dominic while he was promoting underground and inspired him to be better.  But it was the track "Simon Says" from Monch's Internal Affairs solo debut album, that changed everything for Simon Dominic, who at the time was going by the stage name K-OUTA.  Even his crew at the time - Illest Konfusion, was named after Pharoahe Monch's - Organized Konfusion with Prince Po. NEW MUSIC ON THE WAY: Tiger JK to Release Final Album as "Drunken Tiger"

  Korean hip-hop legend Tiger JK has announced that he will be dropping a new album, which will be his last, under the name "Drunken Tiger." Per media reports, Tiger JK announced on Friday, April 6, that new music for Drunken Tiger's last album will be out on April 13. According to The Korea Herald, Drunken Tiger is the name of Tiger JK's hip-hop duo with DJ Shine, which debuted in 1999, as pioneers for Korean Hip-Hop. DJ Shine left in 2005, but Tiger JK continued releasing new tracks under Drunken Tiger. The upcoming 10th album will be the first in nine years, under Drunken Tiger, since "Feel gHood Muzik : The 8th Wonder" in 2009. In 2013, Tiger JK teamed up with his wife Yoon Mi Rae and rapper Bizzy to form the group MFBTY, an acronym for "My Fans are Better Than Yours." Soon after, he founded a new label, Feel Ghood Music.
