SONG OF THE DAY: Maikel Delacalle - "Amor De Cine"


The track "Amor De Cine" has been out for months now. Melodic hip-hop singer/rapper Maikel Delacalle from Spain, dropped it along with a music video for it back on April 27. The song is about a woman who is like an actress in his personal movie. It's sexy and addictive, and can be found on digital platforms.

Born in Tenerife, Maikel Delacalle is an artist with Universal Music Spain. He became an internet sensation in 2016 after posting a Spanish version of Ty Dolla Sign's "Or Nah."  He's also known for the song "Ganas." His most recent release is the reggaeton single "Jaque Mate," featuring Justin Quiles, which hit online on July 13.

Rapper Shotta Spence Shares his Mother's Story

Shotta Spence, the 21-year-old up and coming rapper from New Jersey, shared part of his mother's journey from Vietnam, on Instagram, on Monday, September 4, as he wished her a Happy Birthday, and thanked her for supporting him as an artist. Jung Jinhyeong is Back With New Visual - "Addict" ahead of his “SOAR” EP

Ahead of the release of his first EP - “SOAR,” former "MIX & MATCH" contestant Jung Jinhyeong has dropped the first visual off it, for his title track - "Addict," which was produced by GXXD. The official loop music video for "Addict" hit YouTube on October 24. The South Korean singer previously released music back in 2017 - "Tru" (feat. Sik-K) and "Calling You." Before that, he was a contestant on the YG Entertainment survival show "MIX & MATCH," in 2014, but wasn't selected to be a member of the kpop group iKON. Avatar Darko Officially Signs With H1GHR MUSIC

Seattle Rapper Avatar Darko, has officially signed with hip-hop label H1GHR MUSIC. The CEOs, Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone, posted the official video on June 5th, to social media of Avatar signing the contract, and receiving his H1GHR MUSIC gold chain.  The new signee is fresh off a U.S. tour with his H1GHR MUSIC labelmates (which wrapped on May 8th in Seattle). New Music & MV Drop: Joji - "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK"

88rising singer Joji, has returned with a dark and haunting visual for his new track "SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK." Out on September 12, the music video was trending on YouTube hours after its release.  Directed by Jared Hogan, the video has Joji with goat legs, with an arrow shot through the middle of his back, and blood dripping from his mouth, as he sings over eerie melodies. The single, produced by Patrick Wimberly and George Miller, is off Joji's upcoming album -  BALLADS 1 . 

NEW VIDEO DROP: Lil Tjay - "Hold On"

Up and coming New York rapper Lil Tjay released the visual for his song "Hold On" on October 15. The flashy video takes a dramatic turn with a flashback to a year in the past. KPOP Idol J-Hope from BTS - in Drake's "In My Feelings" Official Music Video

by Nefertiti Jenkins So many people from around the world have danced to Drake's Scorpion "In My Feelings" track, thanks to comedian Shiggy, and the viral challenge he created, that Drake almost didn't need an official music video for the song. But he made one anyway. The MV dropped late on August 2nd, and with more than 8 million views, 12 hours later, it is currently the number one trending video on YouTube. Directed by Karena Evans in a New Orleans setting, the cameos in it are epic. At the beginning of the video we see Drake outside a New Orleans home, trying to sweet talk his Keke, played by TV personality and actress La La Anthony, but the two are interrupted by Keke's mother, played Cosby Show legend Phylicia Rashad. It then goes on to feature scenes of dancers and Shiggy in the Big Easy, until Drake wakes from his "dream" and gets annoyed by a production assistant, also played by Shiggy. BLOO Shares His Come Up as an Artist in new Double Single - "Bloo Story"

Rapping over jazzy piano keys, artist BLOO shares his rise in the music industry in a new double single release titled "Bloo Story." The two tracks hit music streaming sites on March 25. In the title song, BLOO raps about going from being a young South Korean kid interested in making music, to becoming an established rapper with Los Angeles based hip-hop label MKIT RAIN in California.  BLOO switches genres, delivering heavy metal/hard rock in the second track "Get money i love it." Former 'K-pop Star 5' Singer - Lexie Liu - Now Signed with 88rising

U.S. media company, 88rising, announced a new addition to their label on June 19, with a tweet that read, "Introducing Lexie Liu Boxin to the 88rising gang." The tweet included a link to Lexie Liu's new video, "Like A Mercedes," which dropped on the 88rising YouTube channel. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter from China, might be a familiar face for some kpop fans. According to media reports, in 2015, she participated in K-pop Star 5 , a South Korean competition show, where agencies hold auditions to find potential kpop stars. She came in fourth place, and was offered a deal with one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, YG Entertainment, but she later declined. The singer's debut single and mv for 88rising, "Like A Mercedes," centers around a cyberpunk virtual reality storyline, with R&B and melodic hip-hop sounds in English and Chinese.
