New Music & MV drop: SUMIN - "Your Home" featuring Xin Seha


South Korean singer SUMIN has released her first full-length album, along with a music video to go with the title song featuring Xin Seha. The 11-track LP "Your Home," dropped on August 10th on Korean streaming sites.

The mv (uploaded to YouTube) begins with a suitcase falling from the sky into an ocean. The video looks retro, and the song vibes like 80s R&B. The lyrics are in Korean, and even if you don't understand it, you'll still fall in love with her vocals and the track's flow. Check it out below, and also watch the music video she pre-released in July for another track on the album- "Sugar Fountain."

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). New Music On The Way: AOMG - Jay Park, Simon Dominic, Gray and Loco

A surprise announcement from hip-hop label AOMG.  On Saturday, April 14, the label (based in Korea) shared a post on Instagram with a silhouette image of four guys in a dark place that read "Here we got Jay Park, Simon Dominic, Gray and Loco shooting a music video. Please stay tuned for collaboration work from our artists." There were two pictures. One upright, and the other upside down.  To add to the AOMG announcement, rapper Loco posted on Instagram, an upside down picture of himself from a set with a caption that says Tuesday, May 1st. Producer/Singer/Rapper Gray has also posted a picture from a set on his Instagram that also reads Tuesday, May 1st. Based on a tweet from the fanbase Jay Park Network on Twitter,  the collaboration could be called "Turn It Over/Upside Down." Basic Training first for AOMG rapper Loco after enlisting in the South Korean military and dropping a new "Hello" EP & MV

CONCERT WATCH: ZION.T - U.S. & Canada Tour

South Korean R&B singer Zion.T is bringing his smooth style to the U.S. and Canada this March. The artist will hit the stage in New York, Dallas, San Jose, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Vancouver.  The tour kicks off on March 16 with KPOPME. Ticket information available at   ZIONT.KPOPME.COM. South Korean Hip-Hop Label Hi-Lite Records Disbands after 12 Years

Another loss for the hip-hop industry in South Korea. On April 20, Hi-Lite Records founder and former CEO Paloalto announced the disbandment of the label during his Instagram Live. Paloalto created the company in 2010. He stepped down as CEO in 2020 , but remained on as a recording artist. The label was most recently home to other artists such as Reddy, Huckleberry P, Swervy, Owell Mood, Soovi, jerd and Ash-B.  Hi-Lite Records posted a statement on its social media platforms following Paloalto's announcement saying in part...  "As many of you heard through Paloalto’s Instagram Live, we have decided to officially disband the Hi-Lite Records label. A number of different situations and circumstances led to this decision. Above all, know that this decision was made to ensure the best possible future for our artists and employees." London artist B Young has returned with a hot new single. The rapper/singer dropped his new song "OCEAN" featuring Nigerian singer BNXN, with an official music video on June 30.  The visual includes beautiful scenes on a beach with a beautiful model. The song produced by AymixBeats is B Young's first release since his 2021 debut album "Differences."

CONCERT WATCH: "Show Me The Money 5" U.S. Tour

Love hip hop? Check out the Show Me The Money tour hitting the U.S. this September, for some of the best performers in hip hop in concert. Show Me The Money is a Korean reality competition show in its 5th season, featuring popular recording artists from popular labels as judges and producers. Thousands of people tried out for the program earlier this year in Korea, but auditions were also held this season in Los Angeles. American producer Timbaland was a guest judge. According to promoter Powerhouse, SMTM5 winner BewhY and runner up CJAMM will be hitting  the stage for the U.S. tour on September 3 rd in Chicago and September 4 th in Los Angeles. Tickets are on sale through ticketmaster.com and axs.com. New Music Drop: Changmo from Ambition Musik Uploads New Track (닿게 됐어) #DNSG

Rapper Changmo from Ambition Musik, uploaded a new track to SoundCloud on June 3rd. The title is in Korean, (닿게 됐어), and Google translates it to 'Okay Touch.'  Changmo, the artist behind the hit "Maestro," also posted on Instagram; #DNSG, (which could also be the title of his upcoming mixtape).
