Jay Park Signs With Roc Nation

Fans knew it was coming.

Hip-Hop artist and AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC Co-CEO, Jay Park, has just signed on with Roc Nation, the label founded by Jay-Z in 2008.

The announcement was made on Friday, July 21, 2017, with Park posting on Twitter and Instagram that "this is a win for Korea, for Asian Americans, and for the overlooked and underappreciated."


Roc Nation,  also announced the deal on its Twitter and Instagram accounts. The company has numerous artists, including Rihanna, J.Cole, Damian Marley and DJ Khaled.  Roc Nation had this to say about Park on its website...

For over a decade, multi-platinum, Korean-American hip-hop artist Jay Park has been at the forefront of the K-pop movement that swept through Asia, before successfully cementing his place as an independent hip-hop and R&B artist recognized worldwide.
Congratulations Jay Park! You work hard, non-stop, and you deserve this!

Fans still have questions about ECÂF after the release of Ruel's new single & MV - "Face To Face"

On Sept. 10, he revealed that the actress portraying ECÂF in the music video and on Twitter, is named Tatiana. Dance Moves of The Day: Insun Lee From PREPIX STUDIO

When you got it, you got it, and dance instructor Insun Lee, has it.    Lee is an instructor with Prepix Studio in South Korea. Prepix has worked on a number of dance projects and videos with entertainer Jay Park.  On its Instagram page, on Sunday, January 14, Prepix posted one of the most recent choreography videos from Lee, promoting his classes there, which take place on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. I n the video,  Lee delivers a smooth routine to   Shawn Mendes' "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" , and in the end he even gives us a bboy spin. NEW MV: Jae Min Bang (a.mond) - "Me In" featuring Chancellor (A groovy track from the fictional 'Top Management' group S.O.U.L)

Jae Min Bang, aka a.mond from South Korean hip-hop crew KIFF CLAN and label AMOEBA CULTURE, has dropped a new smokey visual. The music video for "Me In," featuring R&B singer Chancellor, hit the 1theK YouTube channel on November 9th, as part of the soundtrack for the YouTube Premium subscription Original series  Top Management . The groovy track is produced by AOMG's GRAY. The song is from Top Management' s fictional kpop group S.O.U.L and their self-titled debut mini-album, which is currently available on most music platforms. Check out the new video below.

Concert Watch: Show Me The Money 777 - khip-hop artists to tour in North America - Nafla, Loopy, Mommy Son, Nucksal and Deepflow with Stage Session

Artists from this year's South Korean hip-hop program, Show Me The Money , will hit the stage in early 2019, for a six-city North America tour. Beginning January 23, you can catch rappers Nafla, Loopy, Mommy Son, Nucksal and Deepflow in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, New York and Toronto, thanks to Stage Session. Nafla (from MKIT RAIN) won Show Me the Money 777 (SMTM777), with his labelmate Loopy, as the first runner-up. Mommy Son became this season's viral contestant. Deepflow and Nucksal (of Vismajor Company (VMC)) were producers on the show. Stage Session is a division of KPOPME that specializes in hip-hop, R&B and ballad artists instead of kpop concerts. Just Jerk Crew Performs During Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

We're only two months in, and 2018 has already been a good year for Just Jerk Crew. They are the featured backup dancers in the official music video for Jay Park and Yultron's "Forget About Tomorrow," and they just recently announced the opening of their new dance academy in South Korea. The popular urban dance team from Seoul, has been making moves together since 2010, and has even competed on America's Got Talent, season 12. Now, the group is getting even more international recognition, after performing live during the Opening Ceremony for the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. The group has shared a clip of the performance on Instagram, and some of the members have even shared behind the scenes group photos. YUGYEOM Topping The Charts with "I Want U Around" feat. DeVita

Ahead of the release of his first solo EP under AOMG-- "Point Of View: U" on June 17, GOT7 singer YUGYEOM dropped a single from it-- "I Want U Around," featuring DeVita, with an official music video on June 11. The song was produced by longtime AOMG hit maker GRAY. YUGYEOM signed to the hip-hop label (founded by Jay Park) earlier this year, after leaving JYP Entertainment with his band members in January. On June 11, his song "I Want U Around" entered the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart at number one. It also hit the real-time Genie Music chart, ranked at number one before the chart freezing time for the South Korean music site.  Meanwhile, the music video on YouTube, now has more than a million views, after surpassing 250,000 views within one hour of release and 900,000 views in 19 hours. South Korean Hip-Hop Label Hi-Lite Records Disbands after 12 Years

Another loss for the hip-hop industry in South Korea. On April 20, Hi-Lite Records founder and former CEO Paloalto announced the disbandment of the label during his Instagram Live. Paloalto created the company in 2010. He stepped down as CEO in 2020 , but remained on as a recording artist. The label was most recently home to other artists such as Reddy, Huckleberry P, Swervy, Owell Mood, Soovi, jerd and Ash-B.  Hi-Lite Records posted a statement on its social media platforms following Paloalto's announcement saying in part...  "As many of you heard through Paloalto’s Instagram Live, we have decided to officially disband the Hi-Lite Records label. A number of different situations and circumstances led to this decision. Above all, know that this decision was made to ensure the best possible future for our artists and employees." Rapper JMIN is taking off for better situations, in his new visual for his new song "Blast Off," featuring Yuzion. The artist dropped his latest Sandwich directed music video on YouTube on February 21. Currently, you can also find the track on SoundCloud, but the new music, according to the rapper, is also expected to hit most other streaming platforms soon.

(BTS') J-Hope drops "Airplane" mv from "Hope World" mixtape

Fans didn't see this one coming. On March 6 (EST), BTS kpop member J-Hope dropped another visual for his "Hope World" mixtape. The music video is from the hip-hop track "Airplane," and comes with English subtitles. As we reported previously, the song is about J-Hope, looking back at how far he's come. The video itself shows J-Hope looking suave and cool as he raps... I remember myself back in that moment. When the barren land burned me down. I ran looking at the blue sky. Wanted to fly, in that airplane. The lyrics seem pretty personal, with the 24-year-old describing his dreams, which include flying to different destinations. J-Hope's previous video drop, "Daydream," was trending in the top ten within hours after its release on YouTube on March 1. It's gotten over 24-million views thus far.
