Now Listening To: WOOGIE - "Rewind My Tape, Pt . 2"

Heavy on bass and electric guitars, and khip-hop talent, H1GHR MUSIC producer WOOGIE went big for his second EP, "Rewind My Tape, Pt . 2." The mini-album, with its rock, blues and jazz infusion, dropped on Dec. 16. It features one of his bosses- H1GHR MUSIC co-CEO, Jay Park on two hot tracks. Also featured on the EP are Ugly Duck, pH-1, PUNCHNELLO, Byung Un, Kim Dokyoon and R&B singer and labelmate G.Soul.

G.Soul has been away from the music scene since December 2017, when he enlisted in the South Korean military. The blues track he's featured on, "CALL MY NAME," includes his soulful vocals, and an official music video, focused on a dancer, after a SWAT team is called in.

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. Has Jay Park come full circle with upcoming AOMG Audition Program "Sign Here" on MBN?

He has shared his story hundreds of times. CEO Jay Park got his start in the music industry after auditioning in Seattle as a teen to join JYP, one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea. According to online sources, after being accepted, Park trained in South Korea as part of a kpop group known as One Day. Part of the group's training was broadcast as a reality survival documentary show on MNET called Hot Blood . After the show, One Day was split into two separate groups-- 2AM and 2PM. Via fan votes, Park became the leader of 2PM. 2PM debuted with the song "10 Out of 10" in 2008. But by 2010, Park was officially out of the group, and back home in Seattle. Fast forward to today, and Jay Park is signed to Roc Nation and has founded his own entertainment companies; hip-hop labels AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC, and he is now currently launching an AOMG audition program called "Sign Here" on MBN. Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." R&B singer SOMA not holding back in new MV "Betty," off her first full-length album "SEIREN"

With explicit lyrics you normally don't hear from South Korean female artists, singer-songwriter SOMA shared her alt-R&B sultry track "Betty," with the release of an official music video for it on YouTube on March 2nd (EST). The song, in English and Korean, is off her first full-length album "SEIREN." Part A of the album dropped on streaming sites on March 3rd (KST). Part B releases on March 14. The new music is in celebration of SOMA's second anniversary of her debut EP "Somablu" with label Stoneship.

Will Smith has had another round of Latin dance lessons, this time with singer Nicky Jam down in Cartagena, Colombia. The actor, who is in Cartagena shooting a movie, shared a post on Instagram on April 23, showing what went down at a restaurant, during dinner with his son Jaden Smith. This is Will Smith's second time, sharing lessons with his followers. Back in March, Will posted his Salsa lesson with Marc Anthony from a yacht .  And it appears that Will Smith is a big fan of Nicky Jam. AOMG Welcomes Sogumm to the Label after her "Signhere" win on MBN

South Korean label AOMG (founded by Jay Park), now has two female artists. AOMG welcomed Sogumm to the team on October 31, after the final episode of Signhere on MBN. The singer took home first place, on the competition show. Her total scores for her performance beating out Meloh, Maddox and MBA. Sogumm joins Hoody, and a crew of popular male artists, as the second woman signed to AOMG. Hoody became the first female artist to sign to the hip-hop and R&B record label back in 2015.
