Actress Tracee Ellis Ross will host the 2017 American Music Awards happening on Sunday, November 19, on ABC at 8 p.m.
Tracee Ellis Ross is the daughter of famed Motown singer Diana Ross, and she is currently one of the stars of the hit show "Black-ish," but many fans of Tracee Ellis Ross know her from the hit show "Girlfriends," an American sitcom that ran from 2000 - 2008. She played the leading role as Joan Clayton.

It will be the first time that the Emmy-nominated actress will host the awards show.This Sunday's show will be a big night for the actress and her family. Her mother, Diana Ross, will be honored with the 2017 AMA's Lifetime Achievement Award.Diana Ross, who hosted the awards show in 1986 and 1987, is also slated to perform live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles after receiving her award.
