Hot New Music: Jack Harlow - "First Class," Paulo Londra - "Chance" and ChaMane - "26"

Hip-hop is dominating the charts from around the world. During the week ending April 9, some hot new music hit streaming sites, including new hits from Louisville, KY rapper Jack Harlow, Argentine artist Paulo Londra and South Korean rapper ChaMane.

Jack Harlow's banger "First Class" rolled out on streaming sites on April 8, with an official visualizer (that's currently trending on YouTube) just days after a preview of the song on social media with the artist in the studio went viral. The rapper samples Fergie’s 2006 hit “Glamorous” in "First Class." According to Chart Data, the new song has already topped the global Spotify chart and has earned the biggest chart debut of the year. "First Class" is a pre-release off Harlow's upcoming project- "Come Home The Kids Miss You," due out on May 6th.

After a nearly three-year hiatus (due to a music contract legal battle) Paulo Londra has released his second single of 2022. The artist dropped his dreamy love-at-first sight melodic hip-hop track- "Chance" on April 6, with an official video on YouTube that has already gotten more than 17-million views. The song is also climbing on the global Spotify chart. "Chance" follows Londra's alt-rock “Plan A,” which dropped on March 23.

While showing the diversity of his flow, rapper ChaMane dropped his 4th album- "26" on April 8, as part of South Korean label Amoeba Culture's 'THE SEED' Project, which supports independent hip-hop and R&B artists. The album includes the Korean drill track- "Boys To Men," (feat. Huh!) and the laid-back perfect for a drive around town song- "Neon Seoul."

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. South African singer-songwriter Tyla is one of the hottest rising stars of 2023. She's currently taking over social media with her TikTok viral dance challenge from her latest single- “Water.” The song hit streaming sites in July. The official music video arrived on YouTube on October 6. It's currently (as of this writing) trending #26 on the site with nearly 13 million views.  According to Billboard, “Water” has also climbed to #1 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart, dated Oct. 21-- stopping the record 58-week streak from Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down,” which had led the list since Sept. 10, 2022. “Water” marks Tyla's first top spot on any Billboard chart.  The 21-year-old Johannesburg native debuted with her first music video: "Getting Late," featuring Kooldrink in 2021. Following his announced departure from YG Entertainment in July-- South Korean rapper/actor ONE (Jung Jae Won) is now back with a debut album titled "PRVT 01" under his PRIVATE ONLY independent company. AOMG Welcomes Sogumm to the Label after her "Signhere" win on MBN

South Korean label AOMG (founded by Jay Park), now has two female artists. AOMG welcomed Sogumm to the team on October 31, after the final episode of Signhere on MBN. The singer took home first place, on the competition show. Her total scores for her performance beating out Meloh, Maddox and MBA. Sogumm joins Hoody, and a crew of popular male artists, as the second woman signed to AOMG. Hoody became the first female artist to sign to the hip-hop and R&B record label back in 2015. Jay Park Announces new H1GHR MUSIC Artist - Seo Donghyun a.k.a. Big Naughty

During the second and final day of his 2019  Off Route Fest in South Korea, co-CEO/entertainer Jay Park announced the newest member of his second label- H1GHR MUSIC, as rapper/singer Seo Donghyun a.k.a. Big Naughty. Park introduced the young artist on stage, on Oct. 6, in front of a crowd of thousands of people at the music festival, and later posted video of the moment to Instagram. According to Park, Donghyun is now the youngest member of the label (previously that title went to rapper Haon). Big Naughty was a contestant on season eight of the popular South Korean rap competition program - Show Me The Money (SMTM). He was eliminated in the semi-finals. Fans twerk to BM's #breakyourbackchallenge off his new track "OO YEAH aka YOURFAVORITETWERKSONG"

The latest song to get you twerking, comes from Korean-American rapper  BM (of KARD). Big Mattheww uploaded his self-produced track "OO YEAH aka YOURFAVORITETWERKSONG," to SoundCloud on January 30th. On January 31st, after dancing to the song himself on  V LIVE, BM issued the challenge saying in a tweet , that everyone on V LIVE told him to start it. Rapper Dok2 talks about his personal life and South Korean hip-hop - in English ("Kill Bill") interview with Snacky Chan for "Undergod"

On the March 7th episode of ' Target: Billboard - Kill Bill,' legendary rapper Dok2 brought a number of notable Korean (and Korean-American) rappers out on stage with him to perform his latest song. The show ' Kill Bill'  is an MBC hip-hop survival program which aims to put a South Korean hip-hop artist on the Billboard charts with a collaboration with DJ Khaled. Artists who hit the stage with Dok2 during this episode were Snacky Chan, Changmo, Double K, Deepflow, Los, Young B, Pyunny, Keem Hyo-Eun, Junoflo and Nucksal. After the show, Dok2 and Snacky Chan went backstage to record an interview for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod." During their one on one, Dok2 compares hip-hop styles of trap and boom bap. Jackson Wang Inspired by "Bruce Lee" on New Collab with Al Rocco

Jackson Wang is on a World Tour right now with his kpop idol group GOT7, but the rapper still found time to collaborate with fellow Chinese rapper  Al Rocco , on a track titled "Bruce Lee." The single dropped on July 14, and begins with an audio recording of the martial arts legend, Bruce Lee, as an intro to the song. Produced by Fader One, according to the description released for it, the song "expresses the strength of the Chinese people through the power of music and kung fu." Lyrics with Wang include...
