Hot New Music: Jack Harlow - "First Class," Paulo Londra - "Chance" and ChaMane - "26"

Hip-hop is dominating the charts from around the world. During the week ending April 9, some hot new music hit streaming sites, including new hits from Louisville, KY rapper Jack Harlow, Argentine artist Paulo Londra and South Korean rapper ChaMane.

Jack Harlow's banger "First Class" rolled out on streaming sites on April 8, with an official visualizer (that's currently trending on YouTube) just days after a preview of the song on social media with the artist in the studio went viral. The rapper samples Fergie’s 2006 hit “Glamorous” in "First Class." According to Chart Data, the new song has already topped the global Spotify chart and has earned the biggest chart debut of the year. "First Class" is a pre-release off Harlow's upcoming project- "Come Home The Kids Miss You," due out on May 6th.

After a nearly three-year hiatus (due to a music contract legal battle) Paulo Londra has released his second single of 2022. The artist dropped his dreamy love-at-first sight melodic hip-hop track- "Chance" on April 6, with an official video on YouTube that has already gotten more than 17-million views. The song is also climbing on the global Spotify chart. "Chance" follows Londra's alt-rock “Plan A,” which dropped on March 23.

While showing the diversity of his flow, rapper ChaMane dropped his 4th album- "26" on April 8, as part of South Korean label Amoeba Culture's 'THE SEED' Project, which supports independent hip-hop and R&B artists. The album includes the Korean drill track- "Boys To Men," (feat. Huh!) and the laid-back perfect for a drive around town song- "Neon Seoul."

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. South Korean Hip-Hop Label Hi-Lite Records Disbands after 12 Years

Another loss for the hip-hop industry in South Korea. On April 20, Hi-Lite Records founder and former CEO Paloalto announced the disbandment of the label during his Instagram Live. Paloalto created the company in 2010. He stepped down as CEO in 2020 , but remained on as a recording artist. The label was most recently home to other artists such as Reddy, Huckleberry P, Swervy, Owell Mood, Soovi, jerd and Ash-B.  Hi-Lite Records posted a statement on its social media platforms following Paloalto's announcement saying in part...  "As many of you heard through Paloalto’s Instagram Live, we have decided to officially disband the Hi-Lite Records label. A number of different situations and circumstances led to this decision. Above all, know that this decision was made to ensure the best possible future for our artists and employees." B Young drops hot visual for new song "OCEAN" ft. BNXN

London artist B Young has returned with a hot new single. The rapper/singer dropped his new song "OCEAN" featuring Nigerian singer BNXN, with an official music video on June 30.  The visual includes beautiful scenes on a beach with a beautiful model. The song produced by AymixBeats is B Young's first release since his 2021 debut album "Differences."

Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." AOMG Welcomes Sogumm to the Label after her "Signhere" win on MBN

South Korean label AOMG (founded by Jay Park), now has two female artists. AOMG welcomed Sogumm to the team on October 31, after the final episode of Signhere on MBN. The singer took home first place, on the competition show. Her total scores for her performance beating out Meloh, Maddox and MBA. Sogumm joins Hoody, and a crew of popular male artists, as the second woman signed to AOMG. Hoody became the first female artist to sign to the hip-hop and R&B record label back in 2015. AOMG's Simon Dominic is back-- going in with new music and a visual for his latest single - "DAx4." KHip-Hop Legends: Deepflow, Paloalto, The Quiett, Yumdda and Simon Dominic collab in a Dingo x DAMOIM single & MV - "Forever 84"

A Dingo and DAMOIM collaboration with some of the top hip-hop heavy hitters in South Korea-- who mostly were born in 1984. Part one of the project - "Forever 84," hit streaming sites on November 19, with a Dingo music video on YouTube, featuring Yumdda, Deepflow, Paloalto, The Quiett and Simon Dominic. The rappers, now in their 30s-- have each helped to put South Korean hip-hop on the map. They represent labels AOMG, Hi-Lite Records, ILLIONAIRE RECORDS and VMC. CONCERT WATCH: ZION.T - U.S. & Canada Tour

South Korean R&B singer Zion.T is bringing his smooth style to the U.S. and Canada this March. The artist will hit the stage in New York, Dallas, San Jose, Los Angeles, Toronto, and Vancouver.  The tour kicks off on March 16 with KPOPME. Ticket information available at   ZIONT.KPOPME.COM. Fans have seen Zion.T perform in North America before, including at KCON, and the Show Me The Money 5 tour. INLet'sGo! saw Zion.T during the SMTM5 Chicago stop, and enjoyed his laid back performance and then crazy hype moment for "Machine Gun," with fellow show producer judge, Kush and 2nd place finisher, Cjamm. (UPDATE 03/14/18) According to KPOPME Entertainment, Korean rapper LIL Boi has been added as a special guest to the Zion.T live in the U.S. & Canada tour.

B.I links up with Soulja Boy and DeVita in new song - "BTBT"

South Korean rapper and singer B.I dropped his new collaboration "BTBT," with American rapper Soulja Boy on May 13. His song featuring AOMG singer DeVita, is a pre-release off his upcoming album project "LOVE OR LOVED [L.O.L]." The single is a mixture of dance vibes with afrobeat backgrounds. The song title refers to a Korean phrase that means staggering.  B.I is a former member of Kpop group iKON, and he's now releasing music as a solo artist under his 131 Label, affiliated with IOK Music. On May 13, the rapper released a futuristic music video with the rollout for "BTBT." He has also announced a performance video with choreography by AITTY TOO for the single. That visual is due out on May 17 (or May 18 KST).
