NEW VIDEO DROP: Michael Brun & Gardy Girault - "Peze Kafe" ft. Coralie Herard


A global visual from Haitian DJ and record producer Michael Brun. On September 5, the eclectic music maker released the official video for his track "Peze Kafe," with Gardy Girault, featuring Coralie Herard. The song is off Brun's debut album - "LOKAL," which dropped back in June.

Brun, based in New York, is known for blending electronic music with traditional Haitian styles. In a pinned description on YouTube, Brun says his new video "tells the story of Haitian music mysteriously appearing on radios and TVs around the world." It follows two young boys in Morocco. The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. He told Dumbfoundead that he used to attend a school for foreigners in Busan (because of his mixed Korean, Spanish and Filipino heritage), but after 6th grade he moved to Seoul and did not return back to school (due to family financial reasons). Saudi Rapper Leesa Returns with a Sweet Café Flow

Rapper Leesa made headlines around the world, back in June, when she dropped a hip-hop video celebrating the end of a ban on female drivers in Saudi Arabia. Well now she's back with a sweet video promoting Ewan Café in the country. And although the video (which hit YouTube on November 15), advertises an establishment, that from the visual, seems to offer delicious desserts and coffees, it also highlights the skill Leesa has when it comes to spitting rhymes. South Korean rapper B-Free gets real about the struggles of his personal life, including the role of being a husband and the relationship with his wife, in a raw track praising her, titled - "Wonder Woman." Singer Babylon shows why he's still one of the kings of R&B in South Korea with new album - "MOOD"

South Korean singer Babylon continues to show he's all about keeping the sexy vibes. The crooner dropped his latest album -- "MOOD" on December 7, featuring 19 tracks of slow tempos and explicit lyrics.  The album includes previously released songs from his 2021 project "Hardy," and new tracks with freaky features, including from well-known KPOP star, BOBBY from iKON. Rapper Jessi is back with another single under P NATION (the South Korean record label founded by Psy). This time around, Jessi has global star Jay Park on the track and visual. Jessi released their collaboration - "Drip" on November 1st, and straight out the gate, she comes out swinging with swag, and singing, that she's not "going anywhere." Jay Sean drops visual for new single "With You" ft. Gucci Mane & Asian Doll

British singer Jay Sean has released the official music video for his new single "With You," featuring Gucci Mane and Asian Doll. The Jamar Harding directed visual dropped on April 1st, and in it, there's a lot of booty. The video shows girls in bikinis and balaclavas riding down the road on two-wheel scooters. The actual single hit streaming sites with Republic Records on March 8th, after a long break from the London artist. Check out his new MV below.

A wild Battle of the Bands (Simmons College vs. Kentucky State) during this year's Roots and Heritage festival parade in Lexington

Bigger crowds for the 2024 Roots and Heritage Parade and Battle of the Bands in Lexington, Kentucky. The parade started earlier than usual, at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, but still hundreds of people lined the streets to see local organizations along with Bryan Station High school, Central High School, Simmons College of Kentucky and Kentucky State University march down the road.   The parade on Saturday began on Fourth Street and Elm Tree Lane, turned right onto ML King, right onto Fifth Street, right onto Race Street, right onto Third Street and ended on Elm Tree Lane The parade was followed by a wild and exciting Battle of the Bands and band performances. It was held outside the historic Lyric Theatre on East Third Street and Elm Tree Lane.  The festival started with an African American marketplace on Friday and wrapped with a gospel celebration on Sunday.  Check out the parade and bands below.
