Lil Nas X to drop EP next, after releasing his Official 'Movie' for "Old Town Road" (remix) with Billy Ray Cyrus

Lil Nas X has announced that he'll be dropping an EP next month. The announcement (on social media) comes just one day after the release of the official visual for the remix of "Old Town Road," featuring country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus. The five minute music video, labeled as a movie, was released on May 17, and has been trending number one on YouTube.

The video features special guest appearances from Chris Rock, Haha Davis, Rico Nasty, Diplo, Jozzy, Young Kio and Vince Staples. The visual represents the journey of Lil Nas X's song. The Atlanta rapper told Genius in April that he was living with his sister, and not paying bills, when he was inspired to write it.

The track is currently topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Previously, the original version debuted on the Country Music chart, but Billboard removed it, deeming the country trap song not country music. Following that move, Billy Ray Cyrus hopped on board for the remix, prompting the already viral song to become even more popular.

The new MV featuring the two artists, begins in 1889 on Old Town Road on horseback, in the wild west after a bank robbery. Cyrus suggest that they hide out outside someone's home, and Nas X says: “Last time I was here they weren’t too welcoming to outsiders.”

He then runs into a mine-shaft wormhole that takes him to Old Town Road in 2019, where he finds a community who although is not familiar with his style, come to accept and embrace him. He later hooks back up with Cyrus who takes him to a bingo hall, where there's line dancing and the two end up on stage with Diplo.

Check out the video above, and look for his EP,  “7,” next month.
