Fans twerk to BM's #breakyourbackchallenge off his new track "OO YEAH aka YOURFAVORITETWERKSONG"

The latest song to get you twerking, comes from Korean-American rapper BM (of KARD). Big Mattheww uploaded his self-produced track "OO YEAH aka YOURFAVORITETWERKSONG," to SoundCloud on January 30th.

On January 31st, after dancing to the song himself on V LIVE, BM issued the challenge saying in a tweet, that everyone on V LIVE told him to start it. Since then, he's gotten dozens of responses from fans on Twitter, including a video he posted to Instagram, of three young ladies twerking around an apartment/home, to his song.

Perhaps one of the best known hip-hop and R&B crews in South Korea, members of FANXY CHILD have teamed up once again to drop a new single and visual titled "Y." The track hit streaming sites on August 9th featuring ZICO, CRUSH, DEAN, PENOMECO and producers MILLIC and STAYTUNED. Previously we've seen them collaborate on such hits and music videos like Millic's "Paradise" and Zico's "Fanxy Child" and "Bermuda Triangle." ONE (Jung Jae Won) Returns With Debut Album - "PRVT 01"

Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Beginning with his early rise, the rapper says he's been making moves in the industry since 2002 when he was 12-years-old. NEW MUSIC: Planetarium Records / PLT - "IGOHOLIC"

Planetarium Records may not be dominating the charts right now, but the artists from the South Korean label have come out flexin, and right now, they are the ones to watch. PLT as a collective, dropped a new single with a music video, "IGOHOLIC," on September 17. The track is a trap release, featuring Jung JinWoo, Gaho, Moti, June and Villain; rapping in the visual from a helicopter hangar. With Villain's verse towards the end - "I think I'm an alcoholic. I'm whisky dialing you all day. I'll give you that workaholic. Stop working hard, it's your birthday." The new hip-hop music follows the R&B releases in August from the label, with "Insomniac," from Jung Jin Woo and Gaho. And "Days" from June, Moti and Villain. With explicit lyrics you normally don't hear from South Korean female artists, singer-songwriter SOMA shared her alt-R&B sultry track "Betty," with the release of an official music video for it on YouTube on March 2nd (EST). The song, in English and Korean, is off her first full-length album "SEIREN." Part A of the album dropped on streaming sites on March 3rd (KST). Part B releases on March 14. The new music is in celebration of SOMA's second anniversary of her debut EP "Somablu" with label Stoneship.

When Asian and Black make Hip Hop

                      Asian artists and Black artists are collaborating more often on music projects now, more than ever before. You may not hear the music played yet on mainstream radio, but as our global culture shifts to more inclusiveness, you'll find these collaborations trending on social media, especially YouTube and SoundCloud. For example, Too $hort and Dumbfoundead on "Cochino," and Jay Park and Raz Simone on "Afraid of Me." Back in November (2016), World Star Hip Hop uploaded "Dirty Jersey" from Asian-American rapper Shotta Spence (Spence Lee) featuring 732 Cash (Ear Drummers). A "Cold" Feature on the way for rapper Hanhae, even after dropping his "About Time" EP & "Flashback" MV and enlisting in the South Korean Military

Before leaving for the South Korean military on February 7, and posting the picture above to Instagram, South Korean rapper Hanhae, finished working on his latest EP titled "About Time." It dropped one day after he left to serve his country as a conscripted policeman. The BRANDNEW MUSIC artist (and former Show Me The Money contestant) included six songs of fast and smooth flow on his mini-album. A standout on the EP, is the melodic "About Time" title track, featuring the buttery vocals of BADMINTON. An official music video for the track 'Flashback' also dropped with the EP.
