New H1GHR MUSIC rapper JMIN Gives Shout-Out to the late Big Pun After The Release of his Debut EP "Homecoming"

New H1GHR MUSIC artist JMIN is celebrating the next chapter of his music career with the rollout of his debut EP "Homecoming." The Korean-American rapper dropped the mini-album on streaming sites on August 13 with a visual for his track "Dedication," featuring H1GHR MUSIC CEO Jay Park. On the day of the release, JMIN on Instagram gave a shout-out to the late rapper Big Pun, "for the inspiration for the track." Big Pun died February 7, 2000. He was known for his hit "Still Not a Player," featuring Joe, and other songs.

JMIN, still an up-and-coming Los Angeles rapper, is known for his song "Spaceship," after the visual for it hit the No Jumper YouTube channel in 2018. On August 5, 2021, South Korean based company H1GHR MUSIC announced JMIN as its newest artist to the label, tweeting - "JMIN starts his next chapter in the motherland with H1GHR MUSIC." JMIN posted on social media on the day of the announcement saying... “Everything I’ve done in the past has led me here. It’s a new chapter in my career, I’m home.”

Rapper Shotta Spence Shares his Mother's Story

Shotta Spence, the 21-year-old up and coming rapper from New Jersey, shared part of his mother's journey from Vietnam, on Instagram, on Monday, September 4, as he wished her a Happy Birthday, and thanked her for supporting him as an artist. In his post, Shotta Spence (Spence Lee) wrote that when his mother was a little girl in Vietnam,  "the communist North had taken everything from her family. KHip-Hop Tours/Concerts Happening Soon in 2022

Fans of South Korean hip-hop will soon have a chance to see their favorite artists on stage. More than two years after the coronavirus pandemic put live in-person performances on hold, now with declining cases globally, artists are once again preparing to go on tour.  That includes Khip-hop rapper, Hi-Lite Records founder Paloalto, as well as AOMG artists YUGYEOM, Woo, Coogie, Sogumm, DeVita and DJ Wegun. Jay Park shows his soulful side during NPR Tiny Desk Concert

Artist Jay Park has still got it. Surrounded by a band and a small chorus, Park croons with smooth falsetto vocals, hitting high notes while seducing R&B fans during a soulful NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert from Seoul, South Korea. The performance hit YouTube on May 26.  Jay Park on Instagram said he prepared hard in the middle of his busy schedule. He performed his 2015 song "Sex Trip" live for the first time, and slowed down his fan favored twerk anthem - "Mommae." Rapper Dok2 talks about working with Jay Park and G-Dragon (from BIGBANG) in Ep. 31 of "Fun With Dumb"

Illionaire Records co-founder Dok2 is a pioneer in the South Korean hip-hop industry, but he rarely gives interviews. Lucky for fans, the rapper sat down on two separate occasions recently to talk about his life and the rise of hip-hop in South Korea. The first interview was for the March 7th face to face with rapper Snacky Chan for Chan's YouTube series - "Undergod."   The second was for American rapper Dumbfoundead's March 20th (ep. 31) podcast of "Fun With Dumb." During the podcast, Dok2 provided a mini-history lesson for anyone interested in South Korean hip-hop. Worth Watching: "Bleach" - A Live-Action Anime Adaptation Movie on Netflix

It's based on the manga and anime series of the same name. The acting is good, and the action is great. Even if you're not familiar with the series, you'll still enjoy the movie. According to the official synopsis, the film is about... Ichigo Kurosaki, a High School student, living in Karakura. He is able to see ghosts, as well as hollows. H1GHR MUSIC fans have more questions after label drops compilation single - "BRB"

H1GHR MUSIC returned with a new compilation single and visual on July 27. The title for the new song-- "BRB," is an acronym for "Be Right Back." The track produced by GroovyRoom and Cha Cha Malone, includes arstists HAON, Sik-K, TRADE L, BIG Naughty, pH-1, PARK HYEON JIN, JAY B and Jay Park.  The song includes the lyrics: "We'll meet again after looking around" and "H1GHR gang, no label, issa la familia." Fans are commenting under the official music video for the song, saying the lyrics are sad and appear to suggest an ending or hiatus.  The new release comes just days after rapper pH-1 deleted his posts on Instagram and after H1GHR MUSIC announced the departures of rapper Sik-K and GOT7 singer JAY B, after the expiration of their contracts. Mural of Rapper Dumbfoundead Vandalized

The iconic mural of rapper Dumbfoundead painted on the side of Catalina Liquor in Koreatown in Los Angeles, has been vandalized-- that's according to a social media post from the artist. A picture of the vandalism, shows letters spray painted across it. On July 16th, Dumbfoundead thanked painter Joseph Yun Lee and Catalina Liquor on Instagram for "wanting to keep the mural up as long as they did."  The mural was originally painted for the rapper's 2016 music video "Murals," a visual off his "We Might Die" album. Last year, he tweeted that he was getting a least one tagged photo a day from fans who had taken a picture in front of it. Sheaden Gabriel, from California, has been a YouTube sensation for years and he's only 13-years-old. He's the kid seen dancing and making crazy faces on a number of choreographers' channels, and recently was one of the dancers featured in Chris Brown's new music video "Party."
