CONCERTS, TOURS & FESTIVALS (UPDATED)

JULY

-GSoul: The South Korean R&B singer announced his North American Tour last month, following the conclusion of his European tour. With eleven scheduled stops, it will kick off July 7 in Vancouver and end July 24 in Seattle. Ticket information is at Kohai.com.

-Lollapalooza: The festival takes place in the historic Grant Park in Chicago July 28-31. This year, J-Hope, member of Kpop group BTS, will headline with a closing performance on the main stage on Sunday, July 31st. His performance will make history, cementing him as the first South Korean artist to ever headline a main stage at a major U.S. music festival. Ticket information at: lollapalooza.com.

-Kehlani: The American R&B singer begins her "Blue Water Road Trip" Tour on July 30 in Raleigh, NC. You can find a link to buy tickets on her website: Kehlani.com.

AUGUST

-Alicia Keys: The R&B singer kicks off the American leg of her World Tour on August 2nd in Charlotte, NC. You can find ticket information on her website by clicking here.

-Kultureland Fest: Happening AUG. 6-7. Kultureland is an Afro-fusion, Latin, Dancehall, and R&B music festival located in Toronto, Canada. Headliners this year are Burna Boy and Jhené Aiko. Get tickets at www.kultureland.ca.

-Giveon: The R&B singer kicks off the American leg of his 2022 tour on August 16 in Philadelphia, PA. You can find a link to show dates on his website www.giveonofficial.com. The tour will follow the release of his album- "Give or Take," hitting streaming sites on June 24th. 

-Head In The Clouds Festival: More than a dozen artists are expected to hit the stage August 20 & 21 in Pasadena, CA during the two-day 88rising event. The lineup includes Jay Park, Shotta Spence, Rich Brian and Jackson Wang. You can buy passes at LA.HITCFESTIVAL.COM.

SEPTEMBER

-MADE IN AMERICA: The JAY-Z curated festival returns Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 3-4, on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, PA. The full festival lineup includes headliners Bad Bunny and Tyler, The Creator, along with performances from Lil Uzi Vert, Jazmine Sullivan, Burna Boy, Snoh Aalegra, Kodak Black, Pusha T, Lil Tjay and more. -Jack Harlow: The Louisville, KY rapper kicks off his “Come Home The Kids Miss You" Tour on September 6th in Nashville, TN with support from hip-hop duo, City Girls. Ticket information is at: jackharlow.us.tour.

-DPR Regime Tour: The Dream Perfect Regime collective kicks off their world tour on September 8 in Charlotte, NC with sold out shows. Ticket information is available at regimetour.com.



-Mary J. Blige: The legendary Queen of Hip-Hop Soul hits the road for her Good Morning Gorgeous Tour  beginning September 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tour features singers Ella Mai and Queen Naija. You can find ticket information at: www.maryjblige.com.

Now Listening To: Tyla's - "Water" - The single that's now at the Top of Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart

South African singer-songwriter Tyla is one of the hottest rising stars of 2023. She's currently taking over social media with her TikTok viral dance challenge from her latest single- “Water.” The song hit streaming sites in July. The official music video arrived on YouTube on October 6. It's currently (as of this writing) trending #26 on the site with nearly 13 million views.  According to Billboard, “Water” has also climbed to #1 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart, dated Oct. 21-- stopping the record 58-week streak from Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down,” which had led the list since Sept. 10, 2022. “Water” marks Tyla's first top spot on any Billboard chart.  The 21-year-old Johannesburg native debuted with her first music video: "Getting Late," featuring Kooldrink in 2021. KATIE Returns With New Single & MV - "ECHO"

Singer KATIE is back with another smooth sultry track. The artist released her new single "ECHO" and the visual for it on April 24. KATIE dropped her debut EP "LOG," in 2019. It included a feature with Ty Dolla $ign on her breakout hit "Remember." According to the description on her YouTube channel, the singer worked with the same producers and music video director for both "Remember" and "ECHO."

New Music and Video Drop: CHANGMO - "DNSG" Mixtape Album - with a MV for The Track - "Holy God"

by Nefertiti Jenkins The latest mixtape from Korean hip-hop artist Changmo, includes nine tracks, with a visual for its fifth track "Holy God."  The "underground rockstar" rapper is from Ambition Musik (of Illionaire Records), and released "DNSG," on June 11.  The "Intro" kicks off his album, with instrumentals. The third track, "Touch," was pre-released a week earlier on SoundCloud . A lot of people are talking about the fifth track, "Holy God," and the music video for it (which currently does not have subtitles). Rapped in Korean, the mv is laden with religious symbolism, explicit images of women, and has a cameo appearance from Illionaire Records co-founder, The Quiett. Basic Training first for AOMG rapper Loco after enlisting in the South Korean military and dropping a new "Hello" EP & MV

by Nefertiti Jenkins On the track "Too Fast," from his February 7th "Hello" EP, AOMG rapper Loco sings the lyrics "Don't say goodbye," but that's exactly what he had to do, when he enlisted in the South Korean military on the same day of the EP release. In fact, the entire mini-album seems to offer messages to decipher while he's away as a conscripted policeman. Starting with the EP title and the title of its tracks-- "Nothing," "It's Been a While," featuring Zion.T, "Tangled Up," featuring pH-1, "Some Beatmaker," featuring yeesang & Woo, "Too Fast ," featuring Paloalto and "How." Fans still have questions about ECÂF after the release of Ruel's new single & MV - "Face To Face"

(Updated September 10) - Ruel has dropped the Behind The Scenes video for "Face To Face." On Sept. 10, he revealed that the actress portraying ECÂF in the music video and on Twitter, is named Tatiana. And the person who sings the vocals for her single release, "Pictures," is actually Ruel's sister Coco. Original Post (08/11/19) ... Dance Moves of The Day: Insun Lee From PREPIX STUDIO

When you got it, you got it, and dance instructor Insun Lee, has it.    Lee is an instructor with Prepix Studio in South Korea. Prepix has worked on a number of dance projects and videos with entertainer Jay Park.  On its Instagram page, on Sunday, January 14, Prepix posted one of the most recent choreography videos from Lee, promoting his classes there, which take place on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. I n the video,  Lee delivers a smooth routine to   Shawn Mendes' "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" , and in the end he even gives us a bboy spin. New Video Drop: Rich Brian raps to an ex-girlfriend about their "History" in his latest visual

88rising artist Brian Imanuel (a.k.a. Rich Brian) has just dropped the official music video for his track "History." In the visual released on October 10, he raps to an ex-girlfriend at a party about what could've been for them, as he tries to get her back. The Indonesian (born) rapper, co-directed his new music video with James Defina. The self-produced track originally hit streaming sites as part of the 88rising collective album "Head in the Clouds," back in July. Check out the video below. Rich Brian can also be seen on the First We Feast series "Feast Mansion" with labelmate Joji, and is currently on a North America tour with 88rising. CONCERT WATCH: Bruno Mars Adds New Opening Acts to '24K Magic World Tour' - Ella Mai, Ciara, Boyz II Men and Charlie Wilson

In a hilarious photoshopped Instagram video post on August 14, funk singer Bruno Mars announced a lineup of special guests to replace Cardi B on the final leg of the  24K Magic World Tour.  The decision to add the four new acts comes after Cardi B dropped out of the tour in late July after giving birth to her daughter. Hitting the stage at various points during the U.S. stops, will be Ciara, Ella Mai, Boyz II Men and Charlie Wilson. Each will perform as openers for a number of shows, beginning with Boyz II Men in Denver, Colorado on September 7th. The 24K Magic World Tour  began in early 2017, and will end in November (2018) with three homecoming shows in Hawaii. More information can be found on the  Bruno Mars website. NEW MUSIC: South Korean R&B singer - £.vıewƶ - "Don't"

R&B singer £.vıewƶ from South Korean crew Poison Holyc, has a new song out. The artist uploaded "Don't" to SoundCloud on November 21. It includes his smooth vocals on melodic R&B hip-hop beats. The track is produced by fellow crew member Nap!er. £.vıewƶ is an artist with Sony Music Entertainment, who debuted two years ago. He's uploaded covers of songs to Instagram, and has several collaborations with other South Korean musicians. He dropped the tracks "EASY" and "Cross Line" in September. South Korea's Bluesy Mansion leader, main producer and sound engineer-- Truman, has released a double single titled "What?" The new music hit streaming sites on August 20 under Dynasty Muzik.
