Now Listening To: Filipino Hip-Hop and R&B - PARADISE RISING's EP "Semilucent 2"

Back for a second round of new sounds, 88rising's label PARADISE RISING has dropped a new EP featuring Filipino hip-hop and R&B artists. The 5-track "Semilucent 2" project hit streaming sites on October 4 with several visuals on YouTube. The mini-album includes music from Canadian duo MANILA GREY, as well as singers Steven Peregrina, Daze and Yuna (from Malaysia), rapper Curtismith, CA Christian Alexander and producer Manila Killa. NEW VIDEO DROP: Just Hush - "TakeOff"

R&B singer Just Hush has dropped the official music video for his song "TakeOff," as part of the Official Movie Soundtrack for the film "Indak." The new black and white visual hit YouTube on October 5. The song is also off his 2018 debut 13-track album "Flight School Era." According to his Twitter handle, Just Hush is from Tondo, Manila in the Philippines. The artist previously released a black and white video for his track "BKRGRL" back in May. Filipino rapper Shanti Dope drops new single and MV - "Amatz"

He's delivering the latest jam from the Philippines. 17-year-old Shanti Dope released a new retro-styled video, for his latest single "Amatz" on March 25. Known for his song "Nadarang," the young Filipino rapper delivers with a strong hard-hitting flow with traditional instruments used on a melodic beat. Check out his new music and visual below. New Video: RUBY IBARRA is "Taking Names" and going hard with Bambu & Nump

Sharing her immigrant story with a sharp flow, Filipino-American rapper and spoken word artist, Ruby Ibarra, released a visual for her track "TAKING NAMES," (feat. Nump and Bambu) on Nov. 29. The song is from her 2017 debut album  Circa91 . And when it's roll call, They know my name now. I make them all fall. I'm 'bouta break out. Born in Tacloban, Philippines in 1991, her family moved to San Lorenzo, California when she was a young child. The now 27-year-old, raps in Tagalog and English, and focuses on the impact of colorism, colonialism and culture with her art. There’s some crazy Filipinos in here.
