In his new song "Last Night," artist Russ croons about the final moments of a lost love. The track dropped on September 23 with emotional lyrics: "I didn't know that last night was our last night together, did you? / I didn't know today was the day I was gonna say goodbye to you / Do you know that I love you, know that I want you to stay? / I didn't know today was the day I was gonna say goodbye to you." "When you were layin on my chest I didn't know (did you, did you?) / When that screen went black and credits rolled (did you, did you?) / Did you know, the sun was on its way? / Did you know? / I wish you told me (I wish you told me)." On social media, Russ posted that his therapist had tasked him with the exercise of writing a lyric that summarizes the grief that he had been processing, and "Last Night" was the end result.
