NEW MUSIC: St. Louis rapper Smino brings his own style - in sophomore album - "NOIR"

by Nefertiti Jenkins

St. Louis rapper/singer Smino is one of a kind. The artist has a unique sound that stands out from a crowd of where just about every other rapper, from around the world sounds the same. Smino, combines hip-hop with funk and soul, much like André 3000, from hip-hop duo Outkast, but spins the influence to include mumble rap.

Sometimes you don't understand what he's saying on his tracks, but you still feel the vibe of his music. On November 8th, Smino dropped his sophomore album, "NOIR," bringing all of the above elements together (and more), in a full length project, which includes the previously released guitar jingling single of "KLINK" and the track "L.M.F," with all of its Lion King references. The LP follows the 2017 release of his debut album "blkswn." Listen to his new music below.
